From 4 Color Rebellion (http://www.4colorrebellion.com/):
The ever-loved hero in green tights is back! Not only do we get to see the first screens of Tingle’s game debut, but we can laugh it off just by reading the newly unveiled game title - Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Happy Land, which translates as “Freshly-picked Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land”.

Oh man, they have to keep that title.

Changing that title would be a travesty akin to changing the console's name from Revolution to Wii, except in reverse. They should just keep it, is what I'm saying.

If it was blue coloured rupee land I'd buy it. And why does "Happy" translate as "Rupee"? Isn't happy happy?

I think the only possible way that title could be improved is if it were "Freshly-pickled Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land".
Don't ask me why.

Hah, that's exactly how I read it the first time round anyway.
Looks like a pretty cool game.

Hell yes! A Tingle game, this'll be the ultimate acid-trip/horror game ever made.
Wow, now we can touch Tingle.

When they bring it to the US, they'll change the name to something stupid like "Tingle Sensation" or "Touch Tingle!". They'll claim it to be a more US-appropriate title than "Freshly-picked Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land". Mark my words.

Well if Peach got her own game, so should Tingle. Awesome title too.

I look forward to this with the same kind of dazed fascination usually reserved for school bus accidents and the end times.

Haha, is this for real? I figure that if it is, it will change when it comes to America.
Can someone that lives in Japan explain how a title like THAT would be considered 'normal' amongst the population? Or, if not that, at least tolerate it enough to where it would sell decently?
IGN translates it as "Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land." Why's there a discrepancy? (rose and pink-colored i guess could mean the same thing, but freshly-picked doesn't really make any sense to me)

Anyone who knows Tingle, knows the title could likely be even crazier.

I wonder if Samuel L. Jackson will sign on just because of the title?

"Rose-colored" is more correct, sort of. -iro is a suffix which means "-colored," and bara means "rose." A word for brown in Japanese is chairo, literally "tea-colored." However, no one translates chairo as "tea-colored"; they just say "brown." In that spirit, I would just use "pink" or "rose." Mogitate, meaning fresh-picked, is an adjective modifying Tingle here. The particle no indicates possesion. It works pretty much like an apostrophe-s in English. So the a better translation might be "Fresh-Picked Tingle's Pink Rupee Land."

Would fresh-picked mean new? Like "New Tingle's Pink Rupee Land?"
