Perfect Dark Zero Map Pack Released.

The highly anticipated map pack add-on for Rare's Perfect Dark Zero (360) has just been released (http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2006/06/07/Perfect-Dark-Zero-Map-Pack-One.aspx).

You can now download 'Map Pack One' for Pefect Dark Zero from the Xbox Live Marketplace. This premium content is 500 points and contains four new multiplayer maps: Plaza, Rooftops, Trench, and GasPlant. This content is available in all Xbox Live regions.
I'm going to hold off on downloading this until I know that it doesn't have any of the map exploits that currently plauge PD0's online multiplayer.

Tons, often multiple exploits for every map. I know of three for Urban alone.

Heh, I personally love PD0's multiplayer... My only complaint is that you often have to wait for a round to end before playing, and also the fact that the multiplayer has been tainted by exploits. One of these problems can be fixed, and I believe Rare is the sort of dev house that could come through and actually fix it.

Of course the bots are horrible. They'll set explosives and then just stand there. this game is really, really bad. I cannot believe some people lauded it when the 360 came out (including Gamespot).

I've never playd PD0 online, maybe some of us should get together and try it out, I think we can be good and not use the map exploits on each other :P. I think the game is decent, its definitely not 'great'.

Totally agree with Baps comments. PD0 was a HUGE disappointment. Steer clear.

Basically the exploits involve people going into walls. This is a bad thing since many of the DarkOps games revolve around eliminating players, and having to try to survive (essentially all of the DarkOps games are about this). Infection and Elimination are particurally effected by these glitches, as once a person is hiding in a wall you can't really attack them.

It ruins the game, and people abuse these things blatantly. I have to host my own games now whenever I want to play, it is the only way I can be certain that the people who exploit will be booted. I'm hoping that Microsoft looks into the complaints I file on each and every person I find exploiting. They deserve the ban hammer.

I agree. PDZ's multiplayer was a blast! Difficult, when faced with very good players, but it was a ton of fun!

Single player was weak, so for the 45% of the 360 owners, that aren't on Live Gold, it was likely a big disappointment.

For me. I loved it. Moved on to GRAW, but I do go back from time to time on PDZ for a change of pace.

I'll likely buy the maps.

Give PDZ a decent chance on Multiplayer before you give your final review... if you have Live Gold. I know you haven't been online too much, because it only takes 10 Sniper kills or 10 minutes survived online etc, for your 1st Achievement, which are pretty easy to get.

Anyway, I agree with your single player opinion and I don't blame you for not making it to any acheivements offline, but PDZ has a lot of multiplayer fans, because I think it's really well done online.

I think a ton of the bad reviews in forums results from Non Live Gold users.
