Considering I played through the entire main story and mages guild quests with over 95 hours or playtime I didn't encounter any quest bugs or any other bugs for that matter. I did have it freeze up about 8-9 times, usually during the load screen, but at least twice while playing. Not bad, Not bad at all. I am excited to the see the dungeon they are going to release. :)

Frequent Crashing possibly due to connected HP printer

Whats with the warning saying it will take up to 20 minutes to patch... it took about 15 seconds at the most.

Well, only when someone randomly adds a fanboy laden comment to a fresh thread. That wasnt even really falming. Go take a midol and watch Oprah.
~Does this actually fix a problem anyone has had with the game.

I ran into the bug (on the X360) where you can't complete the mission where you need to dive in the water well to retrieve the heavy Ring of Burden. The dead guy or ring just isn't there! Therefore, I can't complete those quests or do any alchemy.

I didn't get that bug.
Multiple appearences of people walking on air so far.
And I can't finish the slaughterfish quest.

Wasnt fanboy laden dumbass... it was a troll.
And a weak troll at that, as I actually find it pretty fucking spectacular having an HP printer can fuck a game like Oblivion up. Its actually a valid critic.

More like a mix of the two, which are basically the same thing anyways.
Also nice job resorting to name calling. Its "critique" btw.

Agreed - that patch was long overdue. Especially considering they released shit like horse armor pack for money instead :P
However the X360 dashboard update was right on par in my opinion

Just goes to show which platform was in more urgent need of a patch... HP printers crashing the game. That's almost signature worthy. :D

Anyone ever play Daggerfall... and remember buildings sticking out of the ground, and all kinds of other really strange bugs? :-) At least the team seems better now, than back then. :-)

Indeed. BItch about the bugs all you want, but Daggerfall was a superior game in every single possible way.

Proof that programming for daggerfall can be a fan base inspiring experience.
Also proof that not everyone here really gives a shit because they didn't like Daggerfall in any iota of the concept.

So what you're saying is that, without this patch, porn would shoot out of your HP printer?

considering kids can create pr0n out of thin air (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/06/02) now, i don't think bethesda should worry too much.
lookin' forward to the 360 patch. i had a bug which very nearly stopped me completing the thieves guild!!

Way to completely hijack this thread guys. Funny as I was reading through the patch fixes (mainly exploits) I was really thinking to myself "but... these are all things I want to know how to do, not fix!". It was like an education on all the things I could do to take advantage of the game in funny ways.
I actually haven't run into any game-breaking bugs, but my favourite exploit was keeping the emperor and his bodyguard along for the ride for all the guild quests -- like 40-50 quests -- by not taking them to Cloud Ruler Temple. Basically I had a fighter and magic user along as a party for most of the game! :)

SERIOUS QUESTION:
Anyone knows if this patch screws up any mods?
the beta patch disabled the elfish map mod, the key ring mod and the LOD mod, at least.
Anyone tested it?

Misinformed. Fuckwads who buy games without knowing the limits of their system is what online tech support forums are filled with: their bellowing and moaning. Consoles are thankfully idiotproof, for the most part, and don't have to deal with morons with 7 year old computers, laptops and desktops with IGP, conviced that their dell clunker is the messiah of gaming and that "insert title/publiser here" is the antichrist.

Don't you go into the mods and change the date to sometime after the patch?

Uninstalled already. The autolevel up thingy was the most annoying and sadly pointless thing since... net lag?
Supertongue5000
06-07-2006, 01:18 PM
Agreed the autolevel broke the game for me. I thought I'd stick around for some of the mods, but then I realized I didn't like Oblivion's fixed core anyway so I ditched after the first week.

It seems to be running more stable on my system now when previously it would crach every few hours.
I'm also noticing some very slight performance increases. I'm guessing these are through the SLI optimisations.
