That structure isn't orcy enough, it looks like it can stand, no orc structure has ever been that well made. Nowhere near enough useless features on it.

Character models are looking great though, perfect blend of style and realism.

I heard rumors that this and WOW were coming to 360... Anyone else hear the same? MS should just release full keyboard compatibility for the 360 already! its time!!

I like that they are trying a more realistic look than the more stylized cartoonish look of WOW. I hope it works for them. the stylized look really helped WOW get away with pretty low poly stuff and I found that I started to like the look after a while. The Warhammer shot with the orc in front of the gate looks really high poly especially the gate. Each log and board looks to be modeled. And look at all the great detail in his shield. Really nice stuff. I wonder if this means they will have loads in between zones? Anyway it looks cool but I guess the gameplay is going to decide how well it does long term. I'm up for giiving it a shot.

It looks way better than WOW, but it is in the same style I agree.
WOW has a cartoonish style with large iconic structures, weapons and landmarks. It's not like WOW invented that anyway - it's just the perfect blend right now of realism versus full cartoon fantasy.
EQ2 tried to make gfx realistic, but it looks weird I think. You will always need some kind of fantasy/cartoon mixed in to make a sense of style, but not as much as older people are turned away.

WOW had a more blurry look to it, but this is ofcourse due to the textures being lowdetail. Warhammer is a 2007 game, so it should ofcourse look sharper and with more polygons.

As I used to play Warhammer, this intrigues me alot. I wish to see what they do with the High Elves and some of the hero characters. The twins princes Tyrion and Ticlis were always some of my favourites. And if it looks like WoW, you can't really blame them. Orcs, Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Trolls. They each have it. So long as it only looks the same, and plays different, I couldn't care less.

It looks mighty nice too.

I dont know what you guys are talking about, but I run WoW at 1600x1200 on a 21 inch with a 6800 GT, and it looks fucking beautiful. It may not be the most graphically impressive game on the planet, but the art direction and the skins look stunning when all the graphics are cranked up.

Warhammer has mildly interested me, but I'm waiting to see how they will differentiate. I'm pretty sure though, that they will try to beat the 10 ton Guerilla by copying it in as many ways as they can get away with, so I doubt it will play a whole lot differently than WoW. It would actually behoove them to copy some of the features out of WoW, since WoW does an exceptional job at a lot of things. They could also stand to improve a lot though. Here's to hoping things do go well for this one.

I'm still waiting for my Warhammer: 40K MMO

Looks good, but... is it going to match WoW? And that structure looks un-orky, i mean its standing! thats a new high for orks! and 40k would be better ^.^ i wanna drive a landraider woooo! =D

I think it looks good. WoW has set the benchmark for MMOs so it's natural to compare this to that. WoWs graphics are more stylized and cartoony while Warhammer strikes me as leaning more towards some realism but not total. EQ2 looks like bad 80s cartoon animation of humans. Bleah.

If Warhammer can get gameplay mechanics correct it might be a fun break from WoW.

Well, WoW copied absolutely everything before it... its only real innovation was polish. If Mythic can slightly refine and extremely polish their RvR end game MMO, I'll be a very happy camper.

The fun of AV were removed two patches ago I believe. You now clock-in and do your time and are given a small paycheck of reputation. I retired from AV months ago and WoW a few months ago. Retirement is good.

40k won't work as a MMOG the same reason Starcraft won't work, it's too big. When ships have crews of 10k, there is no such thing as single person making their way in the world. 40k especially your life is utterly meaningless. Meaning is left to gods and those who come very close to being one.

If they copy WoW then the game will suck, so I don't expect they'll be doing that.

I hope they make the end game more fun than WOW. I will not play a MMORPG where PvP is so item dependant. And where good items are found only when spending extreme amounts of time. I want skill to matter!! WOW is so carebear protective that they completely nerfed the meaning (and therefore the fun) of PvP.

Warhammer will have drops when you PvP (not characters items unfortunately), so it's a little better. And they have done Realm vs. Realm before with success, so perhaps they can do it? Personally I think they will make it a huge timesink like WOW and item-based levelling, but I hope not.

I loved the system in UO where you lost it all, but you could easily buy new cheap stuff that was competetive (and you could bind a few important items). When PvP is useless you don't care when you kill and you don't care when you die. The reason people are staying in MMORPGS now are either because they have some identity in the world (like competing in skill battles with other guilds) or because they like spending alot of time in dungeons chasing after items that make them just 1% better. Unfortunately the last has showed to be hugely popular with WOW. I just wish some other MMORPG would cater to people like me, that want to compete and make guilds that battle and loot each other.

What would make MMORPGS really move forward (and collect the PvP crowd) was to make PvP more widespread between guilds and make characters lootable offcourse. And most important - make some kind of ladder system. And make it recordable. Imagine watching 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 battles and downloading replays to see the best! It would really be something.

I gotta agree with everyone that the building is not orky enough. Where are the load-bearing goblins?

If I had to bet on an established studio to get PvP right and make PvE better than WoW in the ways that count - my money'd be on Mythic.

And didn't MS just push out full USB keyboard compatibility?
Stiil, I don't buy the 360 rumors for WoW. Warhammer, maybe.

To be fair, Warhammer has been around since before I was born, so WoW is probably the one to blame if anyone is being ripped off.

I wish they'd start showing some of the other races.
I'll probably buy the game, I swore off mmorpg's but the DAoC PvP server was a lot of fun, hopefully Mythic makes this game just as good.

Yes, please. I'll take one of those, too. Fantasy MMOs are played out (for me)

Well with the utter toiletfest that DnL apparently turned out to be, I guess there's now nothing else to stave me over until WAR arrives. Probably a good thing. Still... gimme a Necromunda MMOG!!

I still think this game is going to give WoW a run for it's money. At least, I hope it does. The dwarves and orcs just look so kick-ass.

I hope it gives WoW a run for its money. I love blizz, but it'd be neat to see another MMO compete with it.

Just to make it clearer for those who missed the sarcasm in some of the above posts. The art style of Warcraft is taken from the art style of Warhammer, not the other way around.

The art style of Starcraft is taken from the art style of Warhammer 40,000.

Blizzard are unashamed fans of Games Workshops art design and it has inspired their two most successful IPs.

If Goblins are a playable race and they do the endgame well (Where I DON'T have to constantly raid) I'm all over this game.

Very true. For the sake of completeness (and gratuitous pedantry) I'd also like to note that both Warhammer and Warcraft (and every other "orcs and dwarves" universe) are based on the Lord of the Rings, and both Warhammer 40k and Starcraft (and every other "space marines" universe) are based on Starship Troopers.
