No this isn't a pre-movie hype stunt. There really were snakes (http://www.wave3.com/Global/story.asp?S=4980959&nav=0RZF) (well... a snake) on this plane. And the pilot had to do something to stop it! Three-thousand feet in the air on Saturday, he discovered a four-and-a-half-foot black snake peering out at him from the instrument panel of his Piper Cherokee.
So, while flying the plane with one hand, Coles grabbed the snake behind its head with his other hand, even as it coiled around his arm.
Next, he told the control tower he needed emergency landing clearance -- and that he had "one hand full of snake and the other hand full of plane."
Snakes...on a plane! I hope this guy can get a cameo in the upcoming movie.

The best reason to go see X-Men 3, is to see the Snakes trailer.

I missed the trailer, I'll just have to wait for Apple to post it. Man, the more "Snakes on Planes" stories I hear, the more excited I'll be for this movie. Needless to say, I'll be downing a pint or two before hand.

"one hand full of snake"?
hahaha....
Having flown small aircraft like the type he flew myself, I must say that is just awsome.

Darn. UK never got Snakes trailer, all we got was Night at the Museum. Still, it will so be worth the wait. If Snakes doesn't clean up at the Oscars, then Hollywood has officially lost it.
Wait.....

Is that snake a pair of gloves now? Nevermind, he let it go. What a nice guy.

Saw X3 opening night and that wasn't one of the trailers at the regal here in burlington.

As great as this story is, does it really belong on the front page? This is in no way video game related, nor does it have anything to do with those comic give-a-way thing-a-ma-bobs this site has. Interesting, but really doesn't belong on the front page.
Isnt' that snake on a plane? ....the prequel to snakes on a plane. :p
Yeah, that trailer was easily the best part of my midnight X3 experience. That and the fact that the whole audience went nuts when it came up. Good times.
And, as a side, of course this belongs on the front page. It's snakes on a plane. Snakes. On a plane. I mean seriously.

I agree, this is definately front page worthy. Like Blue said, it's a snake... on a plane!

One hand full of snake and the other hand full of plane
I'm not as hyped about the upcoming movie as most people (in our demographic), but that line is awesome.

You can watch a clip here: http://www.tagworld.com/snakesonaplane#
Just scroll down.
They used to have the full trailer up... a ten-second clip doesn't really equal it.

OMG! That trailer seems to be billing it as an action/suspense picture. . . Snakes on a Plane is a comedic spoof of action/suspense pictures right?
Ok my question is so what? Is this a cult thing that is coming back because I have never heard of it before and everyone seems really pumped about it.

Yeah. The traditional pet snake of pets, no less. The guy could've just let it go and nothing would've happened.
Now if he'd had a wasp buzzing around in the cockpit, that is a different story.

cult is the wrong term, imho, as this is getting tons of publicity before it even gets released. This is just another Internet Meme.

There are a lot of things I don't want to hear my captain announce, but here's a good one...
"Excuse me, this is your captain speaking... Does anyone know if a 4' black snake is poisonous? Umm, also along that note, did anyone happen to bring a snake bite kit???"
When you say awesome do you mean GAY?
I heart homophobic terms. Yay.
When you say awesome do you mean GAY?
When you say GAY, do you mean BANHAMMER?

Do you two have something you want to tell the world? It's 2006, it's commonly acceptable in this day and age. Why else would two people get all jumpy when the term GAY pops up? I would have to agree that the trailer looked gay. Men getting excited when long, tube-shaped, living things are seen in between another mans legs...

I thought they just really liked knitting. I know it makes me happy. "Knit knit knit, all day long, knit knit knit, while I sing this song." Yeah, me and grandma, make'n sweaters for neighbors' babies.
