Looks like Valve messed up, and embedded (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/01/half-life-2-episode-two-trailer-alyx-is-hurt/) the Episode 2 trailer.

With Episode One (http://ep1.half-life2.com/) just being released, this makes me even more excited to pick HL2 back up.

Love the outdoor scenes...looks like the Source engine can do forrests now! ;)

While I haven't completed the first episode yet this may be the teaser that gets show at the end of the first one that teases what happens in the next one (SiN Episodes did something similar)

Yeah I hope they have some large outdoor sections, instead of a skybox surrounding a patch of land so tiny that you have a loading screen every single minute when you're in a vehicle.

The interesting thing is that a different team has been working on Episode 2 for a while now, and the Episode 1 team should be starting work on Episode 3 now.

This isn't a mess up, they had already announced it before Ep One launched that it would give people a sneak peak at Ep Two.

Ah, well. I was just going off the blurb at Joystiq. I guess it would have been more appropriate to say someone had ripped the trailer out.

Messed up? That's what you get for relying on Joystiq. It's Chapter Six in the Ep1 New Game menu, if anyone with the game fancies saving a download.

I'm just completing my second run through, with commentary enabled this time. It's great to hear all this stuff, but I wish the game would pause while it was going on.

Yeah, I don't think this was a mess up. Ep1 shows this automatically when you complete the game, and it's selectable on the main menu. Hardly the work of "h4xx0rz"

Looks cool though! I love the little tripod thingies. (which also make a very brief appearance in Ep1 BTW... you just gotta look close)

You can enter "npc_create npc_ministrider" in the console, if you don't mind seeing them with no textures or sounds. They are fully (not to mention beautifully) animated and have AI though.

I caught a glimpse of one in the Citidel on a monitor at the beginning, and I assumed they were some kind of new 4th or 5th party, because they looked like they were attacking the Combine.



If there is other stuff, dont tell me what it is, I just want to know if there is actually anything new. The Combine zombie thing is not a 'new' enemy. They look different and take more damage. I want to see something that performs completely differently than anything we've seen (like those crazy tripod things).

Also, any new guns?

Combine zombies perform very differently. It's a great mechanic. You'll know what I mean when you meet them.

No new guns. This isn't an expansion pack you know.

Yeah, the zombines are different. So now, I have to shoot them faster than the other zombies. Great. I know this wasnt an expansion, but I was expecting them to mix things up a little more. The first 30 minutes had me going "holy shit, this is awesome", then it just dropped off.
