New Upcoming Oblivion Mod: Mehrunes' Razor

Mehrunes' Razor, a 2mb dungeon for 3 dollars. Judging by the price, plenty of people are buying these fragments. Bethesda's fishing for the best pricepoint again.

Looks like one of those Klingon daggers... Would of been worth it at the $2 price point. This is the kind of thing that they should of had up for sale from the start, before souring me and many other people to the whole prospect.

I have yet to purchase any of the new content released (360). Been awhile since I played Oblivion. I guess if they, from what I heard, are not doing an expansion than this is what we have to settle for (paid updates).

Whoa, how did you manage that? The most I ever got was 30%....

Grand stones on the armor pieces (including shield) get you some ridiculous total, like 60% or something. Camo spell for another 40% or 50%. If you happen to pick up a Camo Sigil Stone in any of your gate run-throughs, those are nuts-- I think like 30% on their own, for one piece of armor? If you're high on Willpower, it regens quickly enough to keep it up permanently, and still cast other spells (like, say, Summon Spider Daedra).

Even with crappy soul stones and a decent spell, you'll get up to 70% or 80%, which is enough to punch most guys in the face for a while without a reaction.

Not saying I didn't have tons of fun with the game-- it took a while to hit that level of camo (was around level 20 or 25 for me), so that was a fun journey. But I'll definitely need to roll a new char now that I've "won".

Whoa, how did you manage that? The most I ever got was 30%....
for 100% chamelion:
one of the daedric quests gives you a ring with 30% constant effect.
Grand soul gems can enchant individual items with up to 20% chamelion.
I did the daedric quest and enchanted enchanted one ring, the manacles from the start of the game (when you're in the jail cell), a shield, and some elven greaves. Each enchantment costs something paltry, like 1600 gold. Honestly, I don't know if this is much more broken than having a beefed up sneak skill. Around level 19 in full-on vampire mode my sneak was something like 130, and I was pretty much just as undetectable.

While it's fun to run around hand-to-handing everything to death, this DOES completely break the game. The only enemies that will be able to see you are the ones that are triggered to detect your presence from a quest (like mannimarco and some of the mythic dawn cultists). On the other hand, you can do oblivion gates in 2-5 minutes without ever drawing your weapon.

I kind of miss the morrowind enchanting system, where you at least had some choices for variety in you god items (regen health, sanctuary, chamelion, etc).

The models do look good; but where is the entire dungeon associated with it? I have yet to see a free Oblivion mod that "beats" the ones put out for money. Then again, I haven't done a lot of searching, and I haven't (and don't intend to) acquired any of the Bethesda mods.

IGN brings word (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/710/710942p1.html) of the next piece of content for Oblivion will be a dungeon this time, the biggest dungeon in the game. That would make it huge as a few of the dungeons I found were staggeringly big.


When it's released, Mehrunes' Razor will give players the ability to explore the largest dungeon in Cyrodiil, acquire 17 new magic items, 12 new books and notes for extra backstory, and, most importantly, acquire a new Daedric Artifact. Called Mehrunes Razor, the item will allow for instant enemy kills.


Im not sure what I think of a instant kill weapon, seems it would suck the fun from the game. Although for 2.99$, I think im sold.

Now... queue the non-stop arguments for and against microtransactions!

Skipping this one, I got enough instant kill weapons and mega-dungeons through community mods. Unless this gives something new, like a new trap or model, this isn't worth the money.

That's the only thing I'd spend money on. I mean, Oblivion has so much goddamn content already. Do we really want to pay for more outside of an expansion? Apparently so, for some people. Not me. I'm already drowning in all that retail Oblivion offers. The rest of you are freaks that need to get out more--spend money on realistic things. Like hookers and penicillin.
