Bad idea. Now all of the dust on your 360 that accumulated while you waited for a AAA title will be obvious.

Since my 360 is already out of warranty, maybe I should remove the case completely and avoid overheating issues that way. Not that I have issues, but PGR3 has gotten some weird graphics a few times.

Unless you're planning on using it outside on a hot day, it will hardly make a difference. What color an object is mostly effects radiative heat loss/absorption, which is a relatively minor component indoors.

Couldn't you just take the case off and paint it yourself? You'll have to remove the case and void the warranty anyway, so why not just get $7 worth of paint and do it yourself?

I'm with Dr Finger, it would be stupidly easy to spray paint it a gloss black yourself. Just go to Autozone and buy touch-up spray paint (works the best in my experience).

Nice mod. Strangely enough though, I've come to like my 360 being white. <Insert racist joke here.> It just looks like such a clean system, I almost don't want to even ruin the look with a new faceplate, let alone a full black case mod.

yeah, because i keep my 360 outside in direct sunlight for 10 hours a day.

i would love a black case but i am not risking the thermo-nuclear explosion caused by me trying to extract it from the white case.
