Merry Xmas! My PS3 broke this morning and I don't want to pay the money to Sony to fix this thing so I'm throwing it here to see if anyone would want it. It's got a blinking red light, it's not the yellow one so it may not be as bad as I think it is but I don't care at this point.
This model was an original 20GB, which plays all PS1&2 games but I upgraded the HDD to 250. It does NOT have WiFi. I'll throw in Warhawk and a Blutooth headset for whoever makes the right offer.

Why not crack it open if you don't want to send it off to Sony? The first link on Google (http://www.articlesbase.com/electronics-articles/dealing-with-a-ps3-blinking-red-light-1678489.html#ixzz19Ad123Z2) says:
The blinking red light on PS3 is known to occur when something as simple as a misplaced connection occurs. It could also mean that the PS3's hard drive is malfunctioning or not functioning at all. You can take the following steps to identify and perhaps correct the problem. Check to ensure that all cables are properly and securely connected. If this doesn't solve the problem, try reinstalling the hard drive as indicated below.

Ah yes, a li'l spot of digital-spelunking. Usually results in disaster or frustration, but still a well-trodden rite of the hardcore :P

I figure if you don't want to pay Sony for it, you might as well give it a go.
Besides, according to the URL it could just be a bad connection.

If the warranty is expired, I will ALWAYS crack open my machines. I kept a red-ring launch 360 going for 1 year by doing this.

My original NES use to have a dinner knife wedged into it to simulate having a game genie in. No Blinking screen ever! With as much solar jetman that I use to play, my friends would think I snapped and raged out on the NES lol.

Tried plugging and unplugging all the cables, tried taking the HDD out and back in and nothing worked. My friend and I actually popped open his PS3 when it died and we got it to work for about a week. It was a pain in the ass so I don't wanna do that again.
