Anybody who doesn't pick up Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal and Dragon Quest VIII for $9.99 is a complete fool.

Did you go in to check this or did you just check online?

Online check, which is tied to their inventory and is usually good from what I've found in the past.

Metroid Prime 2. Not as good as MP1 (which is arguably the best first-person game ever made) but still worth $10.

Hell, still worth $50.

Half Life 2 for Xbox is 9.99 also. Burnout Revenge for 360 is 30 bucks. Top of the line deals.

Infected for PSP is only $9.99. That's so worth $10.

Just stopped by my local Circuit City. They had a huge stack of Dragon Quests but they were all behind a glass case (I almost missed them). I had to ask the sales guy to get a couple out for me (one for me and one I am sending to my brother. The guy was in the process of putting all the $10 games into a huge bin, but I noticed he only took out the two copies I asked for and closed the glass case back up. My guess is he or some of the other employees were planning on buying them because he asked me if I was sure I didn't want 3 to "sell one on Ebay."

Anyway, a pretty good sale and I got some great stuff to play this summer after I finish my thesis (deadline in two weeks!). For only $10 each I picked up the following:

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Jak III
Dragon Quest VIII

I loved the first two Ratchet games but never got around to playing the third. As for Jak, I never played part 2 because of all the negative stuff I read but for $10 I figured it was worth a shot.

None of my local stores had Infected(psp) or Matrx: Path of Neo(ps2) in stock. Is anyone finding any of the games they want from this list in stock? Maybe they aren't listing the games and consider them clearout or clearance, not a single one was available.

Unless someone in my area went to all of them at the store opening and bought every single game, even ones I don't want, I think they might just be not listing the games.

Edit: Actually went to the stores instead of trusting the online inventory system and they had Infected and Path of Neo, though the matrix one was in the back, so you may have to ask for help so they can check elsewhere.

Dude, skip the Matrix game. It's one of the saddest pieces of crap I've ever had the misfortune to experience.

Bring the CircuitCity ad and price match it at BestBuy or some other store.

You raise a very good point. Yay for competition and insane ads :D.

I was getting excited at the list...til I saw it was Battlefront one for $10...

Is HL2 for the Xbox any good? I heard it had framerate issues...

Blargh... the only game on there that I have interest in is DQ8, and it is sold out online...

Half Life 2 on Xbox has occassial frame rate stuttering issues but nothing that remotely put me out (and i like my games smooth as silk). Considering it is only ten dollars, there is no harm in giving it a shot, especially if you dont have a PC that could handle the PC version, as was my case. The game is phenominal.

Is half-life 2 backwards compatible with the 360?

Well since I posted before 10am local time I decided to go check out my 2 local circuit cities. Neither one had DQ8 in stock but I got Ratchet and Clank.

Actually my local Circuit City had at least a half a dozen copies of almost all of them. Including a stack of well over 20 Dragon Quests. One of the few advantages of living in a moderate sized town (population of around 100,000) as a opposed to near a big city, I guess.

My Circuit City had all of these games in stock but I got what appeared to be the last DQ8. I also picked up HL2, Chrystal Chronicles and Doom 3. Most of these are games I would never have paid 20 bucks or more for, but I'd pay 10 bucks for pretty much anything (NOTE TO PUBLISHERS). 4 games for 40 bucks is a pretty sweet deal even if only 2 of them turn out to be worth a damn.

I feel the same way. Now if we could just get them to take some of the filler crap out of the games they'd be on to something. $10 for four hours of great entertainment is a lot better deal than $10 for 4 hours of great entertainment buried inside 20 hours of filler content. I see at lot of game that have some cool ideas, but they get drug into the ground from mind numbing repetition.

Another note to publishers: Give your current 4 hours of good stuff to me for a decent price and I'll be more than willing to come back and buy again when in 4-6 months you come up with 4 more hours of worthy content. The ideal world is where cool new games come out for $15 and give us a great weekend's worth of entertainment that we can enjoy without slogging through (or feeling guilty for giving up on) all the filler.

FYI: The circuit city website didn't show any of the games I bought as in stock at the store. The MOD told me that the website is highly innnacurate for clearance items. Like most of these sales, if you want in, you better just go and hunt around the store. Several of the games I bought were in the wrong section, or hidden by employees in the glass cases. (speculation)

Ahh... so basically, they took them down off the website. Figures, I don't have a Circuit City within three hours of me.

I live in Australia, where Dragon Quest 8 is still full price (and Kingdom Hearts 2 is not even out yet  ). Any chance of the store doing international delivery? Or should I just go for Amazon.com?

Great.. picked up a few of these titles at a used games shop last week..

I'll check out both local ex-Radio Shacks (now Circuit City in Canada) for leftover stock, and if they offer the same deals.

Dunno if best buy will price match if Circut city doesnt have it in stock (their price match terms say no). Just go to circut city and get rain checks for the stuff you want.

Is Crystal Chronicles worth picking up if you aren't going to be able to play it with other people because you lack GBA's?

I enjoyed Zelda: Four Swords as a single player game for the $15 I got it for, so if FF:CC has similar single-player value, $10 is certainly a doable price. If it's really only good as a multiplayer title, though, I won't bother since nothing else on the list needs buying for me.
