Before the game is even officially for sale, the UK Eidos website (http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/) has posted a patch (http://www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/support/patchinfo.html?ptid=87) for Hitman: Blood Money.

Despite being hosted on the UK side, it should be the same patch which will be given to the USA version.

Let us pray for the poor console gamers, for whom no patch will be available.

And, man, I remember thinking that the BF1942 launch-day patch was a pretty low blow.

Downloaded.

We'll see if this fixes any of the framerate issues I've been experiencing.

Yea, seems like this should've made it into the final release.

However, 360's version might get an update. I dunno about the others...

Anyone seeing this as a bad thing is retarded. Fast patches = yay.

No. Inform us as to how you are playing with the 1.1 patch applied, seeing as how it hasn't been cracked yet. Maybe by tonight :)

Did they get this in Europe already? Also, there's other ways of playing without the cd and without a crack, legal ways. Like making an cd image on your hard drive.

The patch is to address the severe framerate issues of the PC version. There is a patch for the PC demo as well.

Inform us as to how you already have a copy.

I'm involved with an online distribution network (which will remain nameless) who frequently recieve advance copies of games after they've gone gold. Since I contribute my "expert" analysis to them, they send me games for free.

I'll have to return it by the end of next month, but it's still cool.

1.1 seems to have cleared up framerate issues, not sure what else. I'll have my review of the game up soon.

I have no idea why people like to bitch about patches before the game hits the street. Hell, even highly polished games like Diablo 2, World of Warcraft, and WarCraft 3 all had pathes that hit the street days before the game was released. If you buy the game, you probably are going to patch the game anyways; and it is better to have a patch that fixes everything days before its available rather than waiting an extra month just so some minor things can be added/fixed in the game. Christ, some pople are bitchy.

my guess is yes since I have an ATI card and the game was seriously chugging. I'm just glad it's a patchable issue and not that my computer suddenly sucks.

I have an ATI card as well and the demo wasn't even playable before the patch. I wonder if it has to do with the freakin "plays best on Nvidia" crap you get at launch. ;)

Can anyone give me a quick review of this game? I loved the last few games, I've just been preoccupied with other games lately. There's just something about the "flow" of these games that I really liked. Maybe by the time I'm done playing Oblivion I'll be able to pick this at a bargain.

On the hitmanforum.com website a lot of people are saying this patch only helps ATI users, and that people with Geforce 5 series cards are still experiencing the problems.

After the endless reports of crappy framerates, I'm definitely passing on this one.

With the demo I had crappy framerate no matter what I did with the settings.

But after turning ON Fast Writes in BIOS everything ran silky smooth. And they sure made some VERY pretty graphics run VERY smooth. I had no slowdown at any time in 1280x1024 with every setting (except soft shadows) on high.
I think it scales very well too on the PC, as they even crammed it on the PS2.

It definitely isn't just an ATI issue... my GeForce6600 128MB absolutely could not run the demo at all, the frame rate was atrocious no matter what I did to the settings.

Then I applied the demo patch and pow! everything was smooth as silk. 1024x768, most options turned up (except antialiasing 'cause the 6600 sucks at it), constant 30 FPS or better. And it is one very pretty game.

So yeah, I don't know what the issue was, but the patch completely took care of it. I was able to get through the demo with no problems and (aside from having my hand held because it was a tutorial level) had a great time. :D

I gatta throw in my report. My system runs the game extremely well. The big trick is lowering "Frames to render ahead" from 3 to 2 in your nvidia panel. You gatta unlock that option with a utility though. Doing this drastically helps with the mouse lag.

Otherwise, a geforce 7600GT will run on max settings, except AA which is 2x.

Oh and one issue. On the level in the snow, the frame rate is a little spastic until you get indoors. The snow has some issue I guess.
