Thomas Langhanki of SEK chats with FiringSquad about their upcoming and unusual parallel world themed RTS game Paraworld (http://www.firingsquad.com/features/paraworld_interview/), complete with dinosaurs. Here is a snip:

FiringSquad: How do the game's versions of dinosaurs affect the gameplay and what are some of your personal favorite creatures?

Thomas Langhanki: The T-Rex, I guess. Which is kind of everybody’s favourite as soon as it becomes available. It simply is great to have one or two of then at hand and meet the enemy on the battlefield. Or just surprise him when he doesn’t expect it. I also like the Ankylosaur Catapults as you can toss raptor eggs towards the enemy units and buildings. The little raptors that then spawn and wreak havoc are simply adorable!

Haven't seen this game before, and quite honestly I haven't played a good (imho) RTS since StarCraft, but this game really looks promosing. Perhaps it will be my first RTS purchase in years.

The gameplay could have as much depth as Warcraft II and I'd still be all over. It's pretty, and it kinda looks like Dino-Riders. I really have no choice but to play it.

The hero units in the game don't exactly work the same way they do in let's say WC3 or RoL. They're stronger than other infantry units on the same level, but they're not the kind of über-unit that'll wreak havoc completely on its own.

Heroes don't belong to a particular faction in Paraworld - each combination is possible. What's interesting about heroes is, is the fact, that they add special units or buildings to a tribe's tech tree. Which again are quite handy for specific strategies. And this special bonus differs from tribe to tribe.

Also keep in mind that you don't necessarily have to play with heroes. They're useful thanks to said bonus effects and special movies, but you could also use these slots for powerful animal units.

I really have no choice but to play it.
Good thing you'll be able to check out both, SP and MP, in a demo. But hey, I'm not going to complain if you pre-order right now. ;)
