Strategy Informer (http://www.strategyinformer.com/) managed to check out Disgaea 2 at E3 2006 and now we've written up our preview article on this upcoming RPG from NIS America. We seem to have enjoyed what we checked out also. Here's a snippet:

If you’re familiar with the original Disgaea, then you’re already largely familiar with the gameplay in Disgaea 2. The game is a turn-based strategy/RPG with a heavy emphasis on combat. Features from the original game, like Geo Symbols, picking up characters, and combo attacks, will make a return, but there are also some really cool new features. One of my personal favorite additions is the stack attack. This will allow you to pick up characters and “stack” them upon you. You can then launch enemies into the air and do a combo move with all of the allies you have stacked.

Hopefully this is good.... neither Phantom Brave nor Makai Kingdoms were able to hold my attention.

I pity those who have no distinction between 'tactics' and 'strategy' as lower forms of humanity.

Disgaea was horribly poor tacticly, what people liked about the game was the strategic elements. Heavy emphasis on combat my ass. It'll come down to what level your characters are at and only that.

I liked it more for its narrative and hilarious item text.

yeah, agree it had a great story. After a while I just got tired of the fact that I had to spend so much time leveling up though. I think WoW required less of my time.

I disliked the first for the mas leveling, but something inside of me is telling me to get the second.
