This looks fucking, goddamned brutal. It is precisely 106% more awesome-looking than Green Lantern could ever hope to be.
I was afraid it would end up being slightly on the campy side, but this trailer looks quite badass.
I went from "quite interested because I love Thor" to "definitely going to watch it even harder than I was before."

I love the mythology. Not sure about the attempt to bring it into the modern world.
Why not make a movie about Thor in Thor's world. Why do we need to bring Thor to the 21st century? It's not like movie-makers suddenly decided the Lord of the Rings had to be set in New York City!

...Really?
This is based off of the comic book character. The trailer pretty much sums up why Thor is kicking around on Earth with regular ol' humans. Newsflash: it's the same damn reason why he's kicking around with mortals on Earth as it was in the comics!
It's set where and when it's set because of the source material it's drawing from.

I was mildly interested until I saw IN 3D.

Yeah, well, I've been known to criticize the premise of the comic for the same reason :P I utterly despised the Thor teaser being injected into Iron Man. You should never cross a fantasy hero with scifi. Thematic dissonance to the extreme.
Oh look, here's a "magical" hammer in our world where science rules all. Hate.

90 percent of all the "new" movies are in 3D these days. Expect this trend to die in 2013.

Sci-Fi and Fantasy have crossed in the past with good results. It's slowly becoming a more prominent aspect of the Warcraft universe, while the regular Warhammer setting has similar aspects and Warhammer 40k simply replaced magic with psionics.
Shadowrun is easily the best example of sci-fi and fantasy being blended in perfect harmony.
In the Marvel setting, magic is treated as simply yet another force of nature, much like gravity. It's something that can be tapped into and controlled, much like fire or electricity. Magical and scientific characters stand shoulder-to-shoulder all of the time.
In fact, your assertation that magic should never cross into the realm of a purely scientific character such as Iron Man flies directly in the face of the point of the conflict between Iron Man and his primary foe/greatest opponent/nemesis, the Mandarin.
The entire point of that conflict is Science vs Magic.
