I was really hoping we'd get an E3 demo of this so we could see just how the controls are going to work.

All the previews I've read have praised the controls. Some even prefered it to the PC control scheme. I'm pretty excited about this game. Hopefully if it does well, we'll see more RTS games make the jump to 360. MS certainly has some nice properties to bring over :)

I can't imagine playing an RTS without a Mouse...

6 months ago I couldn't imagine playing an FPS without m/kb. Then I got a 360. Even though I'll always prefer m/kb I am surprised at how fast I started liking the gamepad.

Looks like EA figured it out. Good for them.

I was excited to read this until I realized who posted it. Reanimated posting positive claims about a 360 game is like "wireless magazine" raving about a total turd movie.

I loved the First game on the PC and I have been holding out for the second game as I'm also interested to see how the controls will work on the 360..
I would prefer to use a mouse, but I would also possibly prefer playing it on the 360 (especially over Live).

Hrm, after getting "good" reviews I purchased the first game. I played the good campaign, put it down, and never picked it up again. For an RTS it had its share of "real time" but not too much "strategy".
Is the sequel any better?

That was my complaint with the original as well. The Rohirrim were just too powerful, you could continually ride down anything Mordor threw at you, and in the event that it was one of the few units that you couldn't just trample, you kept a small group of archers waiting in the wings. While I appreciate the game's attempt to streamline the base building process in an attempt to focus on the action, I just didn't care for the approach the original took. Although last I heard they changed that in the sequel.

Well, you know, it's always possible for you to put your activities of acting like a massive douche on hold and go read the professional previews for yourself.

In the second game, the Elves are rediculously powerful, or are at least without as many weaknesses as the other races. Still not a TON of strategy going on, but enough carnage for light RTSing.

I played it at E3, it was on the floor you know.
Anyway, the controls weren't bad, but definitely take some getting used to.

Valid point, can't hurt to stick this in the gamefly queue

This is what happens when people learn new words from looking in mommy's cabinet. Sigh...

Just curious, as I haven't played an RTS in many years, but I'm interested because of the subject matter.
Was the prior PC version multiplayer on the internet? Sometimes weak AI is somewhat accounted for with humans (not always, depends on the human...). :)
