When the world of Rayman is threatened by a devastating invasion of crazed, out-of-control bunnies Rayman must rise up against his furry foes to foil their wicked plans. Ubisoft's Michel Ancel answers some early bird questions, mostly regarding the Wii edition of the game. Here is a snip :

Q: What do you think of the Wii hardware and the innovative controller?

MA : Hardware: Perfect to develop games. Easy to program, you can concentrate on developing new ideas and pushing your game-play.

Controller: Definitely innovative. This controller opens new ways to play games. As gamers, we will rediscover how to enjoy video games. As developers, we must rethink our controls and game-play to push the interactivity and immersion even further. I'm tentatively excited by this game. Ancel created one of my favorite games of all time, Beyond Good and Evil. But, he's also done Rayman.

He's like some bum on a corner who spits on you all the time. Then, one day, out of nowhere, the bum gives you a million dollars. But he keeps spitting on you. Do you like him now? Or do you just tolerate him because he gave you a million dollars? It's a difficult situation. But one I welcome, because I pass bums on the corner all the time.

Let's hope this thread turns into a discussion on bums. :D

A million dollars? Heck, this is too dang easy. Should have said like, $100 or something. Of course I'd like him! I'd call him Spitty McGee. "Ha ha, good ol' Spiity!" I'd say, as I count my WADS AND WADS OF MONEY. ... Then I'd hire a bodyguard to jump in front of the spit, and beat up ol' Spitty McGee. Not too much, mind you, cause I like him.

Poor spitty. I would just rob him.

I think we should help Spitty, and give him soup. But he would probably just spit the soup on us. Damn you, Spitty!

Secretly I hope Rayman isnt the flagship Wii control title, I think it all comes down to something new that we have never done before. We need a new entity one with which we associate a defined step forwards (if it ends up being one) Secretley I hope Nintendo pick up this title...

It was always meant for Wii >> Kung Fu Chaos FTWii (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/k/kungfuchaos/)

Good point, but in the comparison, Beyond Good and Evil is really, really good. And Rayman is utter trash. So, the comparison is a million dollars versus being spat upon. But I see your point.

How about the bum suddenly gives you $250. Then, you could go buy a Wii. But he'd keep spitting on you. And you probably couldn't afford bodyguards since you already bought that Wii.

Better comparison? :D

Is there any reason this "interview" is ripped right from IGN?

This one just reminds me more of work. I go to work, I get money. Money lets me buy Wii. But each day is like being spat on. Even if I already have the money for the Wii, I still have to go. Now I'm just sad. :(

I guess I would just try and remember the good times Spitty and I once shared, and tolerate what our relationship has since become until our paths no longer cross. (Good times namely being limited to the time he gave me money.)

Ubisoft has released a pre-canned interview with Rayman head honcho Michel Ancel.

Rayman is utter trash? Rayman 2 is my favorite platformer of all time. I'm not the only one who likes it (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/250615.asp?q=rayman%202). To each his own, I guess.

That's really weird. Either Ubisoft PR is fucking around or IGN has really lost it.
