The price has dropped on two Xbox 360 titles, Burnout Revenge and The Outfit, from $59.99 to $39.99. Best Buy, Amazon, Ebgames and Gamestop have been listed as just a few places reflecting these new prices.

Thanks to The Frugal Gamer (http://www.thefrugalgamer.com/) for the news.

A long holiday weekend lies ahead and that shiny new copy of Burnout Revenge is looking pretty tempting...

Burnout rocks...and the Outfit is totally underrated. Especially for multiplayer.

THose games are both basically new and they're already dropping twenty bucks.

Why didn't they just release it at 49.99?

I wonder if the price will drop in the UK?

I love price drops...I hate waiting for the games to get older and cheaper, but I can't stomach paying 50 or 60 a game for as many games as I want to get (I have a very long list of titles still to purchase). Maybe I should consider Gamefly (is that the video game equivalent to Netflix?). But price drops are great...

Burnout Revenge is an awesome title. I think that it is my second favorite Xbox 360 title, right after Ghost Recon.

Ya know, if they just sold them for $49.99 from the beginning they probably wouldn't have to drop the price.

Dammit, I just bought this game. (Burnout) Why couldn't they have done a price drop two weeks ago?! Great game though.

Burnout's good stuff. Totally worth picking up for that price.

Burnout's fun. Racing "simulators" where you spin out every 6 seconds aren't nearly as much fun as just zooming around smashing shit. Retro gameplay with good graphics ftw.

I have Burnout3 for XBOX and its definitely fun, I tried the demo for Revenge and it was fun too, I'll probably pick this up eventually. How is 'The Outfit' though? I downloaded the demo but still haven't checked it out. It annoys me when demos only allow multiplayer, when I demo a game I like to take my time, and mess around see how things work in the game and then I make my decision, with multiplayer only, you really don't get to do that because its just chaos until the match ends.

Not fair to compare racing sims to a game like burnout. That is similar to comparing Flight Simulator 10 to Crimson Skys. Completely different games for completely different people.

That said, I missed out on Burnout last gen, ill probrably pick it up now.

Dammit, and I just bought The Outfit last week. Maybe I can get them to price match it. By the way, I second ba's lauding this game. Very very fun game, and the multiplayer is fast-paced but thoughtful. Go Relic!

This isn't quite on topic, but it's 360 related, so what the hell. Last night I started getting really excited about the 360 for the first time. I watched videos for Dead Rising, Halo 3, Just Cause, and Lost Planet, and they all look like they're going to be fun to play. Then I downloaded the demo for Lost Planet on my friend's 360, and had a blast playing it. Up until now I haven't felt a real draw to buy a 360, but now I can't wait. Soooo...

How much of a graphical update is the 360 version of Burnout? I assume the game mechanics are pretty much the same. I bought the xbox version, but could probably be talked into getting the 360 version, especially at a lower price.

i've got BO3 - and i'm going to leave it, i am a skinflint ;) the graphics are much better, IMHO, a very subjective judgement, tho! :D

to trilogy: the outfit is £30 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000E0Y69M/qid=1148483254/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/203-6890804-0430321) from amazon, but burnout is still £40 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EP98O0/qid=1148483372/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/203-6890804-0430321) .

Ya know, gouging the early adopters and then offering a quick drop to $40 probably earned them more profit.

I haven't seen the console versions, but I'm betting the graphics upgrade isn't *that* massive. That said, what matters to me is that the game is a blast to play and you can get achievements.

I think alot of that depends if you have an HDTV or not. Just the move from 480i to 720p oftens makes the graphics look WAY better. I wonder if I would like the 360 as much if I had a standard definition tv.

Now that I have a new x360, I would be tempted to pick up Burnout and play it again with better graphics. I loved the original XBOX versions.

Yeah. Also graphics just don't matter that much to me in general, so I'm biased that way. :p

The most important upgrade in the 360 version of Burnout is they removed the crappy start meter they added in the previous versions of Revenge.

I am wondering how long this $60 price tag will last for games. Other than the two titles I bought when I bought my 360, I haven't bought anything else at the $60 price point. Picked up Oblivion for $45 on sale at Comp USA, etc. I have no intentions of every buying a game at $60. There are a ton of good games out, I can wait patiently for a price drop like this one. Burnout Revenge 360 is now on its way to my house.

What is this? The last Burnout game I played before Revenge was the original on Gamecube, so I don't recall this at all.

They added some stupid start meter to crash mode, like a swing meter in golf or serve meter in tennis. If I did time the start well you would either get a sluggish start off the line, or the car would have a strong pull to the left or right. It was entirely pointless and just made crash mode frustrating because if you didn't nail the start you might as well restart the crash immediately.

For those of you that have it, how's Burnout Revenge vs NFS:Most Wanted?

Good deal, I wanted to get The Outfit, but $60 just seemed too pricy based on what I played in the demo.

I don't understand those of you who are complaining about just having bought the game recently. What's the problem? Go buy the game again, this time for $40, and return this brand new shrinkwrapped copy to the store with your first receipt, who will then refund you the full $60. Problem solved.

sweet! i didn't know they'd removed that? that was the stupidest idea ever. how did no-one in the development studio, or in testing or something ask the question 'why did we put this in again? what does it actually add to the game?'
