Was reading this poor kid's story and I thought I'd pose the same scenario to you guys.

Right, so I bought Kanyes new album (MBDTF) off iTunes, I bought the deluxe edition, where you get some video and some extra stuff.

I watched half of yue video on friday and I then updated my iPhone 4 over the weeked, because i have over 500 apps / games, it takes a long time to update / sync and all that.

So after it synced i realised it wouldnt play the video i got with the album, it never transfered to my PC either. Half the album did but the video never, so i transfered the rest of the album but the completely lost the video off my iphone. Cant see it there at all.

The only way to get the video is to buy the deluxe edition, it wont let you buy it seperate.

So am I under right to pirate and download the video? Because im not buying the whole album again! Just for a 34 minute video.

Wrote this on my iphone so it may post all jacked up.

The majority of his replies were either pirate it, or call the company to complain.

Who do i complain to at apple? Any links? Or emails someone could share plz? Thanks guys

Then he got the info.

So I rang support the asian lady on the phone told me to download it again and it wont charge me, so I did and it looks like it has charged me again. So I have the rest of the album and the video back but i've had to pay twice because i've been ill advised from a support worker. I've emailed apple and hopefully will get my money back.

and a post from some guy who summed it all up...

It's a shame that the "right" thing to do is also the thing that involves the most time, frustration and highest chances of having to deal with some idiots with no guarantee of success.

The performers want to get you their music but platforms such as itunes constantly screw it up and restrict paying customers, leaving people angry at the artists. Do you think he has a right to pirate after all his trouble?

Why would you want to watch Kanye talk about how great he is. I can only just tolerate him singing/rapping about it?

That being said: Pirate the video. You have a receipt from iTunes that shows that you bought it. It's deletion was not due to this kid's negligence. Apple caused it. They should fix it.

It wouldn't be pirating if he paid for it.

That's like saying it would be wrong to use a No-CD crack for a game you bought legally. I don't think anyone has a problem with that.

Im not going come on this site and say: "support piracy". Then again when i get off this site i wont be supporting some high-school dropout who happens to think he/she's more valuable than say a surgeon because his/her CD has one or two good songs on it. Fuck that.

i dont think at the end of the day it would make much of a difference if he pirated it in the first place. dont get me wrong pirating is still pretty bad but nowadays practically all the music a band or artist makes is from concerts and gigs, releasing albums is just a way of advertising with a bonus. But from what he's said i can't see why it would be wrong for him to have pirated it after it was lost. He did pay for the album and the video and the fact it was removed due to no fault of his own means surely its only fair he gets back what he is owed? otherwise its like being promised a large pay bonus at work if you worked extra hours and in the end you didnt get the bonus. You worked on the pretences that you would be given payment in return for you extra services so its only fair you are given what you worked for.

Hip hop and rap is all about one's self masturbation and ego.
