Monster Madness is a four-player cooperative online-enabled action game for the Xbox 360 and PC. Mix local and online players as you try to survive the monsters' invasion. Each player character has unique items and affects how the story plays out. Artificial Studios recently switched to the Unreal Engine 3, so it was prime time for an updated look, here is a snip :

The overall presentation was quite comical - a hilarious and stereotyped take on the horror genre that isn't intended to be taken seriously, a fact which is obvious at first glance. The music was quite Tim Burton-esque, mirroring the overall theme of a game that looks like it could have come out of farcical horror flick from year's past. Character design follows some basic horror movie cliché, a goth chick with a thing for swords, a blonde cheerleader with attack batons, a geek with a penchant for axes, and a fourth random dude who uses whatever he can get his hands on, such as the aforementioned Killer Plunger.Check the complete Monster Madness preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=34087) over at WorthPlaying.

Four words: Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Or, three words: Hunter The Reckoning. Only more childish. I'm down for it though. :D

I love sentenses like this:

"character design follows some basic horror movie cliché, a goth chick with a thing for swords, a blonde cheerleader with attack batons, a geek with a penchant for axes, and a fourth random dude who uses whatever he can get his hands on, such as the aforementioned Killer Plunger."

You find it all the time in bad highschool essays.

So what movies have made those cliche again?

Four words: Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

I thought exactly the same thing when I read the post.

When the previews for this came out a while back I was pretty unimpressed. I thought the portraits and menu art style didn't mesh well enough with the in-game graphics. I'd still have prefered that they had gone for a more cell-shaded approach but it's looking good.

I think it's about time we had a followup to Zombies, spiritual or otherwise. I loved that damn game.

I'd settle for ZAMN on XBLA, CO-OP,

ZAMN was one of the best coop games of all times.

I can't wait.

I really dug the portait and menu art style. It looked slick.

I thought Monster Madness was an old Microsoft monster truck racing game on the PC...

that would be Monster Truck Madness.

Monster Madness looks like it could be fun.
