I'm sure Abednigo is sick of this by now, but this should be the last news on Halo 3 until something concrete actually comes out.

Bungie (http://bungie.net/News/TopStory.aspx?link=weeklyupdatemay1206) answers some of the fan questions regarding the Halo 3 trailer. Topics covered include the plot of the game, the location of the trailer, the gun in the trailer, technical details and just what exactly Cortana says.Is the plan to release the game at the same time as the movie? Or does the movie release have no effect on when the game is released?

The two will not affect each other in terms of release dates.

The answer seems to indicate that they will affect each other in other ways besides their release dates.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Edit: Maybe the 7th replier to this thread gets something. Something... Evil.

I hope this doesn't continue until the game is released.

It was a freaking minute long trailer, jeesh.

I'm thrice as stoked for Gears of War as for Halo 3, personally :)

bungie are obsessed with the number 7 (http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Bungie_Studios).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the 7 refers to alot of people's guess that the release will be 7/7/7. Typical Bungie.

7/7/07 is a Saturday. I doubt it'll come out then. I'm also getting married that day.

Yeah, personally I thought Gears of War looked like a boring, shitty, Cliffy B. nightmare before seeing the game played at E3. Now I really couldn't be more excited for it.

Its something that some people think they will get to wear on their heads.

Damn... I went to Bungie.net because of this story, and right at the top I found this:
First up - Bad news for about 200 of the most serious bridgers, standbyers and boosters yesterday - we banned them. Better, newer tools allow us to spot network throttlers and other CRETINS more easily. There will be plenty more bannings before we're through. It's not hard to detect, but we like to be careful about who we ban. So if you're boosting with a modder, or a bridger, stop. Stop because it's stupid to cheat at a video game, and stop because you will get banned and yes, we can tell. I don't understand people who will cheat to get a rank number they know they didn't deserve. Clowns. Anyway, enjoy being banned.
That was awesome. One of the reasons I like Bungie so much is that they act like real people, and not just the wooden execs we get at most game companies.

Began reading "The Fall of Reach" yesterday afternoon. Got about 100 or so pages into the story. It's good, quick, fun read. The historical backdrop does help explain a lot that the games do not.

Edit: Does anyone know when the graphic novels are due this summer?

Yeah, I actually really loved the books. The Haloverse is very rich in backstory. My wet dream is a Ronald Moore Halo television series.

Come to think of it, the Halo movie still doesn't have a director (although rumor has it that Bungie is pushing for Peter Jackson to do it)... Ronald Moore could be the perfect guy for the job.

It's funny you bring up a Halo television series. I was thinking the same exact thing yesterday. I wonder why Bungie hasn't jumped at the idea. Heck, even animated episodes would be nice.

Meh, that might be a really bad idea. Bungie needs to stick with what they do best, and I doubt very much that an animated halo cartoon would be very entertaining.

Plus, it's Bungie's game, but *** owns them hardcore, so good luck getting around that.

Thanks for that quote! I just spent the past half hour pouring over Bunjie info and the whole Marathon universe. Very cool.

I like this question

Jonrap asks,

My wife didn't recognize Cortana when she watched the announcement. I thought Cortana looked exactly the same. But my wife is smarter than me. So, I better ask.

Is Cortana any different? She seems somehow different. My wife didn't recognize Cortana when she watched the announcement. I thought Cortana looked exactly the same. But my wife is smarter than me. So, I better ask.

Women know things John. I don't know how they do, they just do.

If they make a cartoon, I hope it's a lot better than Heavy Gear. Because that sucked a lot.

Goldeneye > Halo

The controls sucked in Goldeneye :p

One of the reasons I didn't play FPSs for awhile, but I can't comment on the rest of the game.

Can't wait until it comes out, Gears of War seems like it will be a good game until then and before that Chromehounds and until then Oblivion!

The default controls did suck. But you could switch to Turok-style controls (analog stick = look, c buttons = move). Even better, you could plug in two controllers for dual analog action. It still irks me that people call this "Halo controls".

That is what I defaulted too on the PSP for Coded Arms, still don't like it. By the way that game is midly fun but really drab and hard to control overall.
