Yeah, I did that in Pigeon Forge when I was 16, I think, which would have been back around Summer of 1992, at a place called FlyAway (http://flyawayindoorskydiving.com/pf.html) (which is still around, apparently). The first time you do it isn't that exciting, as you have the instructor pretty much just hanging onto you and letting you levitate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QaL_pQWlZE) the short span on time that constitutes your turn. But if you come back regularly, they let you get more and more independent, much the same as with real skydivers. As for owning your own personal vertical wind tunnel, most of us couldn't afford the electric bill, let alone the actual structure itself. :)

Sure, you'd have to rent it out just like all the others, you know, but it'd be yours on the off hours :P
