In a post E3 2006 preview, TeamXbox (http://www.teamxbox.com/) relives their hands-on experience with John Woo's Stranglehold. (http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1377/Stranglehold/p1/)

Here's a bit from it...
Graphically, Stranglehold is extremely detailed and we would expect nothing short of impressive from a game that is focusing so heavily on cinematics. Most impressive are the environments that present players with fully destructible surroundings that will reflect the damage being done as the game unfolds.
Nice. I guess this will hold me over until Max Payne 3 comes out.

The only thing I needed to know, from Penny Arcade:
I will say that I saw a super move that involved doves flying in slow motion.
Preordered.

I thought I read somewhere that it was coming for 360, PS3, and PC, but I could be wrong.

I think this is from the same team that made Psi-Ops, which was a game that I felt didn't get the attention that it deserved.

Psi-Ops kicked ass. It suffered from an outlandish / generic story (if that makes any sense) but the gameplay was brilliant.

As for Stranglehold, I am definitely wanting this game. One of the things that is grabbing me is the fact that all of the destruction / bodies remain in the environment. In other words, if you unload on a cement wall, the chunks that break off will not magically disappear, they will remain in the environment and continue to be affected by the physics engine. This applies right down to a bag of rice - if one is shot, all of the grains will remain.

Just another one of those things that should be happening in every game by now.

Yeah it kinda spoiled Half-Life 2 for me, since it came out earlier and did the whole telekinesis (gravity gun) thing so much better. You could pick up enemies and drop them off to their death or bash them against walls, and you could levitate things you were standing on. The only problem was that the characters and story didn't really grab me, I think Psi-Ops is a really good argument against the idea that story doesn't matter and that all you need is really good gameplay. Also, I would really like to see something like Psi-Ops for Wii, I'd imagine picking up objects and moving them closer and farther and rotating them would be far easier with a Wii controller than with a controller or mouse.

Max Payne 3 != Max Payne 3

It won't be made by Remedy, it won't be made for PC first and it probably won't be as "heavy" as MP1&2.

Weep with me, Everlost_MI.

Remedy is making Alan Wake for the 360 and PC. Look it up. Like you said, they definitely have a nack for storytelling, to say the least. The game is very intriguing.
