I have seen a lot of things that people didn't think were there. Just because I used most of Wednesays, Thursday and Friday watching Gamespot Live.

The Motorstorm gameplay looks smooth and fun. Sony should have shown this at the show. While its nothing the 360 couldn't do, anything that looked fun to play would have helped ease Sony's PS3 bore-fest.
However, I hate to cast a downer on what looks like a fun game, but the gameplay seems to get repetitive after watching the video for a few minutes. The track design is sort of bland...
It begs the question of whether or not a game like this will hold up to repeated play. Probably depends on what else the game has to offer...
The jury is still out!

Yes, it looks good, but it also looks painstakingly slow.

After watching the 7 minute video, I was getting pretty exited, especially when the race cars were intersecting with normal traffic, but it looks like that part was pre-rendered.
Why are there explosions when the player car lands after small jumps. Looks stupid. Also, the "boost" mode officially makes it a game for the under 7 year olds. Not interested.

Yes, it looks sort of slow for a racer. And it's far from reaching the quality of the pre-rendered trailer from last year's E3. :p
Could be cool, as long as they actually design the tracks with different routes/shortcuts and have some crazy stuff going on. I mean... they can do that with the PS3, right? Wasn't next-gen supposed to be all about that? :D
Oh, and the interface also needs some sort of progress map/bar.

Wow... that's a really cool GIF clip. Mind if I ask what software you used to convert and resize the WMV to the GIF image you linked? (In apparently a very short amount of time, I might add. :) )

Wow... just got through watching the cockpit view, and that looks to be Flatout (a game I enjoyed very much) on some Barry-Bonds-esque steroid abuse. Looks like a very fun game to play. I imagine whether or not it would get repetitive after a while would depend largely on the multiplayer modes it has to offer. And, of course, throwing in some form of Demolition Derby that's online playable wouldn't hurt either. :)
Why Sony didn't heavily showcase this game during there presentation is absolutely beyond me.

This was definitely at the show. It seemed to be running fairly smoothly, but felt kinda meh to me. Also, the spark effects (the little yellow/orange vectors) for some reason I found very distracting, particularly when up close.

I actually stole it from somebody else unfortunetly, so I deserve no credit ;)

It's reportedly 50% complete, at that. I saw the Jeux France video of it, and I was fairly impressed.

Holy cow. I don't get excited about racers, but that looks phenomenal.

After watching the 7-minute trailer, I do have to say that while the game does like quite good, it's moving just a little bit too slow. Now if the whole game were moving at the speed that it went whenever a boost was deployed, then I'd say they had it about right. As it is, since they're pushing this as an "action" racing game (the presenter's word in the video, not mine), they really should push to have it more frantic paced, something akin to the Burnout series. While off-road games like "Flatout" and "Test Drive: Eve of Destruction" are certainly slow paced as well, they're trying to be somewhat simmish in their approach, which doesn't seem to be what "Motor Storm" is shooting for. I say, speed it up by about 30% with very quick crash recovery, and they may have it about right.

Sony's logic:
Show kick-ass Motorstorm video or Gran Turismo 4 running on a PS2 emu on a PC?
Man, I will never forget that humiliation.

Cool looking game, but without the rumble feature, it wont be as good as it could be.

At E3 they said the the tilt controller may be used for punching/kicking gestures toward knocking other players offline (Road Rash style). I dunno, they should add motion blur so it "seems" like your going really fast IMO
The F1 video has the same problem, it didn't appear that you were gonig very fast at all.
That looks pretty good though, they probably didn't show it at the conference because they didn't want to reming anyone how it looks nothingat all like the pre-reendered trailer they showed last year.
I'll pass on this and wait for Sega Rally.

This looks good. I'm wondering what exactly the 'deformable terrain' thing is, though? I thought the tire tracks were supposed to affected other car's grip on the track? Is that still true? Maybe I'm confusing this with the new Sega Rally or something.
both feature "deformable terrain" where the dirt gets pushed into ruts by your cars, and that actually affects the track and stays that way as cars come after you.

It looked like it can be really fun. The speed isn't terribly slow, but it could pick up a bit. I just don't want it so fast that you never get to admire any of the tracks. The terrain and detail looks pretty good so far.

Looks very good. Too bad Sony ruined its visual impact with the pre-rendered video from E305.

Two points.
1) Does anyone else remember when 3DFX Voodoo2 came out in SLI. It was so smoooooth it seemed slow????
2)The game this reminds me of most is Powerslide by Ratbag.

Hmmmm I seem to recall seeing the game on the 1st floor of the Sony booth (access limited to press etc.). Can any other of the journos here confirm that?

I'm pretty sure that I saw it on the upper portion of the booth you had to wait in line to get to. The line being, oh, maybe 10min of wait time tops (amusing compared to the super-line at the booth next door).
