Well, I tried that now. Picked up a copy of Force Unleashed from Amazon and tried it out last night.
Ugh.
The cinematics were suffering from some sort of weird distortion - almost like watching an old VHS that had seen ten too many plays. Updated my graphics driver, and replaced that problem with a definite stuttering.
"If...only...ew..ower...rkside." Not good.
So fine, skip the story (le sob) and just play the game. It works...sort of. Everything felt like playing in molasses. Not a bad framerate so much as just everything felt very, very slow. My machine shouldn't be having any problems, but this is sure not what I expected.
So, rather than wait to see if a patch is forthcoming, I'm trying out Amazon's return policy. Caveat emptor if you're thinking of getting this one on the PC.
