Seeming as there's a weekend gamer I thought I might as well start one up for movies/tv and see what my fellow Evil Avatar's are watching or planning to watch! I'm currently watching The pianist and hope to finish up the last few episodes of "Highschool of the dead" and end my week by seeing "The other guys" in cinema Sunday! So Evil Avatar...
What are you watching?

I'm also watching Fringe, and yes it's very good. Don't start watching it now though, you'll be completely LOST (get it? :D ) Pick it up from the beginning if your interested. My new favorite shows this season are Boardwalk Empire (HBO) and Terriers (FX). Round out those with Caprica (Syfy), 30 Rock/Office (NBC), Always Sunny (FX) and Modern Family (ABC).

Dexter.
A thousand times Dexter. New season just started. Do yourself a favor and go rent the previous seasons from Redbox or w/e. One of the greatest shows ever because of it's unique protagonist who is a "ethical" serial killer that only kills serial killers >_>
Big Bang Theory started up again as well.
And, Caprica! the Battle Star Galactica prequel series. Zoe = hawt ;)

Dexter fails in the form that he will likely get away with every single murder regardless of his "ethic". (he killed 2 people already who were innocent) Last episode I watched is when they killed off the black detective dude and dexter pinned all his kills on him. Smug bastard.

Castle, House, Bones. I like the quirky mystery shows. All of my USA shows are ended until Jan. :(
Need to get back into NCIS. Hated that show at first, but it was always on. It's like a growing addiction that sort of creeps up on you. I'm at least half a season behind though. Finally caught up on The Office too, so I've been watching the new eps of that. Mostly caught up on Doctor Who, have a couple more eps to watch. Almost time for the next Special.
In the not-so-new department: been clocking through "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," which was a great show (Teri Hatcher=last decade's Alyssa Milano). Just finished my rewatch of the Justice League (/Unlimited) cartoon. That was an epic series, wish the DCAU continued past that point. It was like watching my childhood end; that single continuity started up when I was in 2nd grade, and 'concluded' a few years after I graduated from High School.
Looking forward to seeing if Young Justice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Justice_(TV_series)) will be any good (even though it won't be in the DCAU). Starts up next month.

dude Cartoons are awesome. Especially that one. There are a lot of crappy cartoons, but you picked out one of the best for comparison... Everyone loves that show.

I stopped watching at some point in Season 3. The alt killer mystery in the first season was pretty epic, but after that it seemed like season 2 and 3 were just "how is he going to get away with it this time?" The character development is cool, but the story development got a little too over-dramatic and a little bit predictable for me. Everyone seems to love it though, so maybe I didn't give it a fair chance. Prolly jump back into it at some point.
Anyone watching "No Ordinary Family"? Meant to ask about that in the other post. Sounds cool, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Yeah man, Billy n Mandy is great but seriously I'd expect other shows from over 100 channels to have something good.
Yeah it got like that for me as well. What's next they are going to give him feelings now?
I have recently been watching ABC (haven't in over 10 years) and that tv show got my attention, along with Modern Family. I too can't wait til I get my Burn Notice back. (November I think) It's one of those few shows who's characters I really like. Hell almost anything in USA (that they made) is pretty good. NCIS got boring after they killed off yet another girl. And Bones is like a soap opera post season 1.

He's been nearly caught every season :P The first season was genius in the ending where he was so close to being caught it wasn't even funny :P
Who were the two innocents? He killed the artist thinking he was the murderer, but it was actually the dude's associate.
Then, what, the guy in the bathroom with the boat anchor? Oh, you mean Oscar Prado, the police associate's brother. Yeah, that was in self-defense, the guy was trying to kill him. I don't think that counts.

Each season has been based on a novel written by the guy who originated the character, so the overall arc and writing and etc., has actually been very good compared to most other shows.
In the latest arc, Dexter killed a killer and then realized he'd been seen by a woman the guy was keeping locked in his attic to abuse.
Having now gained her trust in the latest episode, after much angst over what to do with her, she confessed that this dude wasn't the first that had held her, that she had been "owned" by a ring of abusive bastards.
When Dexter heard this he got "the look", and it's clear that's the setup for this season. He's not only got a ring of murderers to take care of, but now a partner in crime with a massive chip on her shoulder.

The 'new' girl took a bit of warming into to like, but I like her better than the original one. Helped that I started watching the series after that point and then went back and watched from the start.
Bones does have its soap opera moments. It went downhill for a little while (leading up to Zack leaving), but they managed to pull it back together. I've liked it a lot more since they started cycling interns... but the Booth and Brennan "we can't be in love!" thing gets a little too heavy a little too often. They take a lot of mystery TV shortcuts, but otherwise the mysteries themselves are usually solid. Not for everyone I guess, but of the three I listed it's prolly my first choice.
I have recently been watching ABC (haven't in over 10 years) and that tv show got my attention, along with Modern Family.
Cool, I'll look into it then.
@Anemone: Yeah I knew it was based off a book series. Kinda like Tru Blood, which I'm a fan of. Generally I'm more of a fan of independent storylines with minor over-arching character development though, so I might be a bit biased against that. Having a set story direction doesn't hurt though, something a lot of other modern shows could use.
I hear there's a lot of deviations from the book, like the dude that took the rap for him in the first season actually helps him out after finding out the truth in the books. If he's going back into a proper dark vigilante storyline and away from the "I'm lying to the cops and everyone I know and they're almost on to me!" (which I think should stay just a background gimmick), then I'll have to get back into it.

i heard something about a series starting up/already started based on the walking dead comics, can anyone enlighten me on if its out yet? and if it is if they know anyway for me to watch it without having sky? the fact that i live in the uk also makes it harder :/ we always miss out on the good stuff, the only decent zombie series we had was dead set and regardless of the fact that it was based around big brother it was still pretty damn awesome!

Nah Leon Vance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCIS_characters#Leon_Vance) takes over.
Watched the first couple eps of No Ordinary Family. I like it, kind of falls somewhere between the Incredibles and Heroes (some of the intrigue without nearly as much of the drama). Hope it stays this good.

Fringe - enjoying the season so far. Last few episodes of the previous season could have been a lot better.
Finished the reboot of Doctor Who a few weeks ago, and started some of the much older episodes. Those are somewhat difficult to watch because of the much slower pacing. Looking forward to the next season.

I liked the Hellsing anime quite a bit, but it 'ends' abruptly. Something to do with the release schedule on the manga and the choice to move over to the OVA format. Series is a measly 13 eps, and the OVA is apparently up to 7 now with 8 out (in Japan) sometime this year and some unscheduled ongoing future releases beyond that.
One of the few animes I've watched that made me want to check out the manga. That's still on my to do list though.

Berserk the anime was nothing more than setup! People who've never read the manga have no clue what the story's even about, lol :P
Recently the story took another huge turn; it took him 20 years to get to the next giant event in the story where the Skull-faced rider makes something happen as he attacks Griffin--won't spoil it. But it's pretty damn dramatic :P Also, very recently we discovered why the story is even called "Berserk", with Guts's new armor.
I consider the end sequence depicted in the movie one of the most brilliant storylines around though :) I doubt anyone really saw that coming.
Seriously, if you guys haven't experienced Berserk, you're missing one of the grittiest and most awesome horror stories ever created.

The anime started telling the story that led up to the end yes...but that IS explaining what the hell is going on. "The Ritual" was so perfectly dark and horrible ah...
cqSP9vDvpFs (WARNING IT GETS VERY GRAPHIC or graphic enough for me to warn you about it)
You got to watch to whole episode though...
It could have been amazing but they didn't give it a chance for another season...
That wasn't the Skull-Faced guy...but the shadow guy who can copy his abilities/shape or something like that. The sword of resonance can take down anything and I still believe (in 2 years lol) they will tell us that it wasn't the Skull. Guts armor is 2-3 years old news or so. Weren't they fighting pirates last month? Guts went Berserk and ripped that pussy ship up, it was awesome. Guts has to be the best protagonist ever in a manga.

im confused is berserk an anime movie or an anime series?
Berserk is an anime -series-, of about 26 episodes. You could never fit this plot into a single movie. Not a chance.
The series chronicles the early life and maturity of protagonist "Guts", as he becomes a war-captain for Griffin, leader of the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary group.
Guts claim to fame is that he's a natural warrior who learned to wield a sword as a six year old basically, and got so used to using a large sword that as an adult he had a gigantic sword made for him just to keep the same relative size. Now he's invincible in combat, only Griffin has ever beat him.
But Griffin has a dark fate that Guts gets wrapped up in, involving demons, which show up about mid-way in the story and claim Griffin is their future lord and king.
Because of this, the story moves quickly away from a standard medieval sword-porn story to a truly gripping horror tale as the world spins out of control.
The end of the anime series actually represents the end of the first act of the manga. Imagine that, an entire 26 episodes of anime that represent only act I on the manga! And it's worth every minute.
Interestingly, Naruto has perhaps a similar structure, as everything before the two-year jump is all backstory and setup also.
Berserk manga is so high-quality in its art that the creator only puts out about 4 episodes a year. That's one reason why the manga has been ongoing for over 20 years now.
As a result of the event at the end of the anime, Guts has one mission in life now: to kill Griffin. That could be tough, since Griffin is now a demon lord >_>
Agpope: It's true that he got the armor like two years ago, but in terms of how many chapters ago that was, it was actually quite recent, lol.
Yeah, they were fighting pirates--well, sort of. Actually demons <_<

ok after watching that video all i can say is.. WTF? and if theres 26 episodes t the first act then something tells me the series will never get finished at this rate which sucks because i cant stand watching series that either end abruptly or at points that have no real close to the story. Even more so because of shadowstar Naru Taru man that series was stupid it had huge gaps between episodes that were never explained, the series ends abruptly and a large majority of it was sensored which was probably why it didnt make sense.
