Straight from the horses mouth (http://www.smashbros.com/en/main.html) (Masahiro Sakurai, project director for the game), it seems that Super Smash Bros. Brawler will not be a Wii launch title.

That brings us to why I've started this new site. I was recently put in charge of creating a Super Smash Bros. title for Wii. Development started in October 2005. Scheduled for release in 2007. It feels like we've only just begun, but we are hard at work on it.

Nintendo at least said Q4 2006 launch, meaning we'll have to play other Wii games before a new SSB graces our living rooms.

So we have to suffer through a launch with only Zelda and Metroid? I'm sure those games can keep us busy until SSB comes out.

It's not about what great games we'll get at launch man! It's about what awesomely superb games we'll have to wait for after launch! We're really an impatient medium, but that's only because we love games so damn much. Or at least I like to think of it that way.

Zelda, Metriod, and Wario. And I wish to god Mario Galaxy, but I know that is not going to happen. I just want a damn platformer. A new Nintendo system should always launch with a platformer.

At least Nintendo isn't rushing the game. I much rather play all the other launch titles which I'll do anyways and play this game when it's ready.

So we have to suffer through a launch with only Zelda and Metroid and thousands of NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and Turbo Graphix 16 games? I'm sure those games can keep us busy until SSB comes out.

There, I know that is what you meant to say. :D

As my grumpyness fades Lost will help =) my flow of my narky comments about developers whom are still really in that "kid in a toyshop" phase as far as the Real Wii is concerned. Just like this years second cycle X36 software is improving so will Nintendo and thier partners ability to ship solid content over the next year. The new Gyro features shouldn't overun the Wii library if simply implemented poorly or tacked on, in some kind of Wii waving contest that would spell disaster, for the sake of, never a sentence should start. If Nintendo is serious about it's Wii they should seriously think about adding another GOLD SEAL to there quality collection. The new golden Wii of Playability! Don't let devs pander shite to us under the shallow dusty viel of "fo-immersive!"

A little hint of good news perhaps. As predicted by me in reverse the Wii has a speaker. Any sound tech will grunt approvingly when you ask if a set of headphones can be used as an impromptu microphone. With Nintendo vast voice experiance by way of the DS Mic and Voice recognition I would like to yell really loudly that anyone with half a brain could implement Voice Recognition to allow you to Sort through your vast collection of Wii Back catalog games. Voice interfacing will be all over your Wii I gaurentee!

I was going through some of my mockups for in house Gyro controllers a month or so ago when my first one arrived and low and behold thats where I recognise that Warhawk footage from =) Me Trying to play Quake3 witth a Gyro Mouse attached to a playstation controller. Working Interestingly just like the guy on screen my wrists felt like I had been doing Yak Su with a Ninja quite quickly though...

I Really like the Google earth features of Mario Galaxies that feature in itself that is seemingly deployed with overlayed roads in Excite Truck seems to allow for somewhat of a correction / alternative play method for the Wii, perhaps. It might just be a lot more than the 9 Swipes of boredom though 9 Swipes though when combo'd together in a Gyro controller with a Tube/Length deevice or a saber say work surprisingly well.

As of about 3 weeks ago partly to get a bit of test tool for "feeling out" gyro Slashing potnetial Red Steel style using a cardboad tube that ultimatly acted as a balanced pendulum of sorts and tought me many lessons about Gyro interfaces, cameras, and sensitivity.

It s late good show all round ...

Needa catch up on some sleep is anyone else feeling that HEADACHE that just wont stop thudding. Brain ESPLODE.

*Edit*

And I am confident that full true 3D mapping is fully possible and plan to rant and rave about it with some much better concept art than mine up until release on www.3WiiD.com (http://) I really hoped I would get a good site name idea from the show and Mario "Google Earth" Galaxies's gave me that =)

I'm actually relieved. I have so much I need to play. I didn't own a cube (or an n64), so I some prequistes of games:

I need to play both Metroid Primes

All 3D zelda's, especially ocarina and Wind Waker (for Phantom Hour Glass)

and then there is a ton of other games I want to play heh. This isn't horrible news for me.

Too bad. I was hoping to get in some good SSB time during the winter holidays with friends that are at out of state colleges.
