See both trailers in their entirety right now!
MGS4 (http://www.gamebrink.com/playstation-3/1481-Metal_Gear_Solid_4-videos.html) shows off its state of the art visuals and Portable Ops (hhttp://www.gamebrink.com/playstation-portable/1479-Metal_Gear_Solid_Portable_Ops-videos.html) hints at WiFi gameplay along with an incredible single player campaign.

I'm hoping that they will bring MGS4 to the 360, or I'm going to be waiting awhile for the PS3 to drop its price down to something more reasonable.

Yah, they brought the first two to Xbox, here's hoping they follow suit this generation. That's really the only game that had me hooked on the PS3. Note the past tense, though. The rather intimidating price, the foul "cheaper" version and the me-too controller have really soured me. I own a PS & PS2, but for now, the trend ends here.

Can't wait for both of them. Portable Ops looks great, and I can't wait to see Raiden back in action on MGS4. Buying a PS3 will not be a political decision for me, no matter what they've done to lie about a dual-SKU or ape Nintendo this generation. They will have a whole hell of alot of good titles this new generation, and owning a PS3 is probably going to be essential if you're a 'buy it all' gamer like myself and pretty much all my staff.

Wow, only kojima could somehow make raiden cool again. Asside for the funny box hidiig scene. The longer MGS4 trailer is alot more indepth, Mooing giant ninja robots and all. oh and otacon still crys...

MGS4 is the reason to shellout $600 for the PS3 and be poor :(
Let's hope it sells better than Snake Eater.

Let's just hope Otacon doesn't "Wii" his pants again like he did in the first MGS...

The MGS4 trailer is amazing. It's the one game that has me even contemplating a PS3 at the moment, but maybe by then they'll have a non-Blu-Ray version and it'll cost less than my mortgage payments.
I'm amazed at how cool those organic metal gears are. And Raiden is actually pretty interesting this time around. Frightening...

The thing about MGS games is.
The actual games always end up being 10x better than the first E3 trailers.
"No Place For Hideo"
What the?

Did you see the earlier MGS trailer where there is a circle of director's chairs? That's where they get the No Place For Hideo from. I think the text on the cardboard box actually changes a couple times to show the various statements from that trailer (it's on the MGS Saga DVD that came as a preorder for Subsistence).

I'm trying to find the trailer where Raiden goes back through time to try to kill Snake, but I can't remember where I saw it... It isn't on that DVD, unfortunately. Is it in the theatre on Subsistance?

As someone who has never played a MGS game, is that supposed to be gameplay? If it is, then that is cool. But if it's just a cinematic, then what's the big deal?

It is a cinematic, but supposedly rendered in-game (thus showing off the POWER OF THE PS3 (tm) )...
If you haven't played any MGS games, you wouldn't get the relationships between all of the characters and the plot details that are hinted at (as this takes place some time after the events of MGS2).
Go play the first three games and then watch it again. You'll appreciate it a lot more.

Here is a funny thing. If the cinematics are rendered using the game engine, then what the hell are they going to fill up the bluray disc with? Making-of videos?
I don't have a PS2, are those old ones available for the Xbox?

MGS 2 & 3 are.
At least, I'm pretty sure MGS3: Subsitance was done for PS2 and Xbox.
If you have a cube, you can play the remake of MGS1

Extra room will be used for HD images on the codec pics, and HD voice acting lol.
He will officially be the first person to fill up a Blu-Ray disc because there will be another Subsistence type version with every single mgs game on one disc and a ton of movies/cinematics.... lol.
The worst part is I will still buy it even though I already own them all.
The trailer is flippin sweet btw.
