Not only does it look retarded... but it's a shooter? God damn it they couldn't even copy the original right.

Gaming technology has changed so much, but that reminds me nothing of the SNES version I loved so much. Of course, they're making a game based on the pen-and-paper franchise, and not a console version, but still -- I'd hoped for some resemblance to the SNES game.
By looking at those screenshots I just don't get the Shadowrun feel I got on the SNES with cyberpunk and all; that's more like... Tomb Raider or something. Perhaps cyberpunk is considered passé by now, since The Matrix and Deus Ex already are established in the gaming world, so they're trying to skew it a bit.

I was so excited... I've loved the shadowrun universe. It's like Microsoft raised my hopes high and then dashed them against the rocks.

See PS3 fanboys? Next-gen isn't about tech, its about art and developer talent and ability. Overpriced machinery will not grant thee great games by default.
That being said, whomever is developing this game should be told that they are working on the Xbox360, not the PS2. What gives with the lousy lighting and models? CRAPTASTIC!!!
Wow, I was looking forward to this game, until now.
Way to go MSFT for taking a great setting and ruining it.

We'll see. I'm not blowing a game off because of 8 screenshots.
And uh, those of you who played the Genesis version will remember that there's a wilderness, with lots of ruins. Which is probably what's being displayed there. Also, I see magic occuring. Maybe it's like a squad-based third-person action RPG. I'd be down with that.
If it's a straight up shooter, they can go to hell

Jacked up, cybernetically enhanced people with guns and swords fighting it out in a dystopian futuristic setting. How hard is that to make a screen shot that would interest the fans? Instead we get bland looking humans with bland looking weapons shooting at each other in a level that looks straight out of the original Golden Eye.
What the fuck?

Ugly. The trailer was even worse.
The Freedonian Aeronautics and Space Administration Studio best stop fucking around and get back to making some sweet sweet Battletech awesomeness.

Shamanism and magic was fairly prevalent in the SNES version -- which is my only encounter with the Shadowrun franchise -- but I expected to see gloomy street enviroments, computer-hacking and vast corporate buildings, but maybe we'll see that later.

I haven't watched the trailer, so maybe that's why I'm confused as to why y'all are calling this a shooter. If I recall correctly (ah, what the hell, of course I do) in the 16 bit version you could SHOOT other people with GUNS (oh noes!).
(Disregard this post if the trailer proves me wrong).

The official site is http://www.shadowrun.com/ and in the FAQ section they explicitly state it is a team based FPS.
Shadowrun™ is a team-based FPS for both Xbox 360™ and Windows Vista™
No thanks.

right. It's not an RPG whatsoever. It's Counterstrike with magic and elves.

Done properly, I could buy into it. If team-based means a group of Shadowrunners (The whole concept of the IP.), there's nothing particularlly wrong with it. If there's cyberspace, and deckers aren't useless/crippled. If there are RPG aspects, well...I could dig it. Maybe. We'll see. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because I love Shadowrun
Fuck pen & paper and dice rolls and all that gay shit. This actually looks like it might be FUN. You know 'fun' right?

Too bad team-based means Counterstrike with magic. And it sounds like absolutely no RPG elements will be present.
Lame!
Shadowrun™ is a team-based FPS for both Xbox 360™ and Windows Vista™, set in a world where ancient magic blends with modern weapons and advanced technology to form a revolution in multiplayer FPS gaming. Purchase new weapons and abilities each round in an extraordinary arms race to increase your options and open up new tactics for your team. Gather your team from four different magical races, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. And fight for control of a magical artifact that can shape the course of the world.

This game looks bland and boring is what it looks like. If they had kept any of the rpg elements in the game it might have been good. I was holding out hope for this title but after seeing the trailer and screens that hope is all but dashed. And I was looking forward to playing Shadowrun on my 360 against my friend on Vista. I don't mind it being FPS but I wanted it to be more like Vampire the Masquerade. Not CS.

Hell, Perfect Dark was more Cyberpunk than this.
I've had stomach aches that were more cyberpunk than this.
Cancel this game, and go make a real ShadowRun game, as the 360 NEEEEEDS RPGS!

You have clearly placed yourself in a lesser camp.
By lesser, I'm referring to intelligence.
History.
Worthiness to live.
Lesser.

Those screenshots just kill whatever IP credit they had. Dark Future? No! Cyberpunk? What's that? Elves with guns in ruins? You bet!
This looks like a Tomb Raider mod.
Maybe after they see the reaction they can actually start making a game someone would like to play.

For the PC:
They need a cyberpunk power-armour game with physics. Miniguns blowing out the support of some combat zone tenament: watching it collapse, or your power armour plows through a brick building in an effort to evade an AV firing rockets, blowing apart buildings.
That's what we need.

I could go for a team based shooter based on Shadowrun. Maybe if its successful, they will also make an RPG.
But the art... The art hurts my eyes! Lets hope they use this next year to make the art better.

Ah, shit, I was secretly hoping everyone that was calling it a shooter didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Damnit, Shadowrun is supposed to be an RPG.

Lol. I'm thinking the exact same thing. Shadowrun is supposed to be gritty and futuristic. Where are the Mr. Johnsons in dark corner booths and the massive corporate buildings. I really don't think Shadowrun can be pulled off properly as an FPS. I'm so sad right now
I played the Genesis Shadowrun game, it was definetly one of my favorites. The whole cyberspace aspect and building up your deck was awesome. I have also read a few pulp fiction Shadowrun novels and see it all go this route is very disappointing.
I think that this title could have made a great MMO, sort of an AO and WoW combined.
A question I have is, will the 360 users be at a disadvantage with this game due to it being a shooter and some users playing Vista (ie keyboard and mice)?

I don't know the Shadowrun world, so I don't know how much it's bastardizing or screwing with the theme.
Watching the trailer off Marketplace, it looked interesting to me... I liked the idea of everyone on your team being able to swoop down from above and attack! Could be pretty funny to the unsuspecting enemy in multiplayer.
I sure seem to be in the minority on this one, so maybe I better think again, but hopefully we'll see a demo at some point.
