Nintendo E3 Press Conference: Live Update

12:35 - Miyamoto walks on stage in a full tux and conducts a video game orchestra with the Wiimote. They play the Zelda theme.

Miyamoto starts breaking it down as someone plays a driving game with the Wiimote.

12:40 - Reggie comes on stage and says the NEW generation is here..not the next generation. It's not about looks, it's about feel. Not the few, but for everyone. It's not about what you see, because what you see is not what you get.

12:42 - Montage video of everyone playing with the Wiimote. Everyone is happy and jumping around. Conducting, driving, tennis, Mario, Pilot Wings, Metroid Prime. He's diving around the room playing metroid. Two geisha's play table tennis. A bunch of teenage girls play Warioware. This really is everybody.

Zelda shown with controller too. Shows fishing with it in Zelda as well as sword play.

12:50 - Pricing coming up as well as availability. Backstory on Wii name coming up to. Who's developing...

12:51 - Holiday launch. More fun for less money.

12:52 - Wii is the sound of inclusion. The sound of every gamer you know and the sound of every gamer that will join us.

1:02 - Two versions of Zelda. One for Gamecube and one for Wii. Both on the same day, Wii launch day.

1:03 - Metroid Prime Corruption most amazing FPS ever. Mario Galaxy has tons of new moves for Mario.

1:05 - Excite Truck! Realtime deforming terrain! It feels like driving. Project Hammer- hammer bashing game and Day of Disaster.

1:07 - Sonic, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Madden, Red Steel described. Tony Hawk downhill Jam. Basically just going over what was shown already.

1:08 - 27 Wii games playable on the show floor. Plus more on video.

1:10 - Demo of Red Steel. Total freedom control. First person shooter style. Doesn't look like you can look up and down. The controller moves the gun on the screen. Graphics aren't quite up to the previous screens but still looks good. Explosions look really good. Lighting and reflections look good too. On screen hand reminds me of Tresspasser how it moves. Sword play is drastic movement. Not subtle. The guy is literally sword fighting on stage.

1:15 - DS talk. Smacktalk on the PSP a bit. "Not going to talk about Numbers..." no need to. Brags about Nintendo network. 1.3 million unique users. 40 million gameplay session. "Free" is good.

As long as the Wii pulls a at a measured pace it's not a problem, but I run my BT client 24/7 and there are times when it picks up and my ping is hosed. I just home Nintendo will put in metering or some kind of a control feature to make sure that it doesnt happen

Disappointing there was no price or launch date given, but all in all I'm impressed. I had my doubts about this new controller, but my fears have been alleviated. I still think the biggest thing the Wii needs now is some solid 3rd party support.

In the demo of Red Steel, I saw the guy look up and shoot a guy off a roof. And the guy also looked down a set of stairs. So I don't know where you got the no up or down look from.

What sucked most about the presentation is that it seemed to have slowed Evil Avatar to a laggish crawl. People stop refreshing your browsers so I can refresh my browser!!!!
