I have a problem that needs the great minds that visit this site.
The problem is I need to copy a Norton Ghost backup Disk that was made on a fat16 system it's on it's way out and the copy has to also be fat16. I have no access to an old system to do this and I need it to setup the scoring system for the tenpin bowling machines at work(they work off fat16).

Is there any disk copying program out there that will allow me to do this or any other method

Cheers for reading!

Wait, so all you need is a 3.5 floppy disk, formatted to Fat16 with Norton Ghost installed on it?

Well, do you have access to a WindowsXP system? When you format a floppy with XP and it says FAT, that means it is FAT16. Once formatted you could simply copy the files and be good with it.

If you're asking one of us to send you a copy of Norton via mail on a FAT16 floppy disk, I hope someone in the UK can help you.

That's where you're at, right?

Cheers for the reply brandonjclark, the disk unfortunately is a CD and the norton ghost is probably 10+ years old. Normal disk too disk copying does not work as I suspect it converting it to fat32, is there a way to tell what FAT is on a disk?

Am I correct in assuming that you have a Norton Ghost image and want to put it on an old PC and that is why you need the boot disk?

Yes, the original disk is getting old and flaky so we need to make a back up. The ones we do are never recognised by the bowling computers, which are basically old towers. I think the reason is when we burn the disk on a modern computer it burns them fat32. Well that's the only thing I can think of.

there seems to be some inconsistencies in what you are saying/and or agreeing with; if you burned an image of a norton backup it would be that filesystem that the image was. If you wrote the image file to a cd it would just be a data file on the cd. if it is not reading the cd, maybe you need to try another drive. if you are not using cd's then you aren't actually burning anything. explain as detailed as possible, the computer that you want to get back to working, and also the computer you are using to try and create that media with. can you boot off of something like a usb floppy drive?

Sorry, I have mental problems that stop me explaining things well. :) When I get home from work I will attempt to explain things again which hopefully will be a lot clearer!

I'm not sure what he's saying, but I think he said he has a fat kid that's 16 being haunted by a ghost named "Norton", or something... >_>
