Rumor has it, Microsoft has picked up the publishing rights to Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake...
Thanks to Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net) for the news (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=64425).
As E3 grows ever nearer, our old friend Internet Reports is working himself up into a right old frenzy over rumours that Alan Wake will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.
The game, which is being developed by Max Payne creators Remedy Entertainment, was originally down for PC and unspecified next-gen consoles. But now rumour has it that Microsoft has picked up the publishing rights - so while it could still appear on Proper Computers, it's unlikely that a PS3 or Wii version will turn up.
There's still no confirmation of whether Alan Wake will go on show at this year's E3, however, and Microsoft would only remind us that they don't like commenting on rumour or speculation.
If true, this could be potentially huge for Microsoft and Xbox 360 owners.

Better rumour is in this months Game Informer, theres a pretty good chance that GTA could be exlusive to the 360 aswell.
Alan Wake looks interested though. Isnt it sorta a cross between Residient Evil and Shenume?

I don't see why. Max Payne on PC was as good as, if not better, on PC than on consoles. Or are you referring to the whole 'it will be dumbed down for the PC' argument given weight recently by Deus Ex: Invisible War?

I always read it as "Alien Wake". 50/50 chance I visualize something swimming underwater on some other planet or jawas burrying one of their buds.
360 needs some good exclusives. Hope this is good. Hope the PC version doesn't get lobotomized to fit on a console.

On friday it's a radio show. Only on Tuesday when it's posted does it become a podcast. :)

I never consider a studio or developer being boughtout by a larger company as good for anyone: they might squeeze out a title, maybe two if they are lucky. Beyond the 1 or 2 titles the soul has been sucked out of the development house and nothing but the name remains.
Kind of like Bungie. I think they are some kind of Undead development house now. ;)

As for the game... It kinda gave me the impression of a better Silent Hill. One that doesn't rely on fog as gimmick.

Bungie is a sad situation like most cases over at Microsoft. For the money it maybe ok for them but they aren't making any friends. Like Rare. A game about pinatas is ok for Nintendo, but Xbox? Really. I can't be the only one wanting a Killer Instinct 3. And making poor Bungie crank out Halo after Halo without expanding the studio house at all. And Lionhead is probably about to just produce Fables. I really like the game but BC and the Movies are good games. I bet ole Peter Molyneux went else where as soon as they gave him the bags of money.
But think of when some guy with promise are about to go out of business, they have to be bought out somewhere. It's got to be some good examples some where.

I HATE the word "blog." "Blogosphere" even more. Why do such words get popularized? Whenever I hear one I just think of some marketing moron or Apple user (since Apple terms are usually fuzzy).
Anyway, I'm sure that "360 exclusive" means itll come to PC, too. Just wait.

Sadly, im not. I get invited to atleast one webinar a week by sales people. Every time I stop and ask them just how stupid they feel after using the term webinar, sadly 9 times out of 10 they act like they havent got a clue why its obnoxious.

Bungie is working on two games at the moment....

I thought Halo3 is done and MS is just sitting on it until PS3 release date. I heard the other title is Halo: Haloest, followed by Halo: Haloest Harder, and the finale Halo: Haloest Harderest. And maybe a remake or two with "Redux" or "Ultra" in the title.

Bungie has two games? When did that happen?
And you correct about Square Enix. If it isn't FF it feels like FF. But think, each FF is different character and storywise. Only the name remeins. And some time they think they are cute and dust the fight engine off a little.

You think it's dumb to make Bungie make sequel after sequel.
Yet, it's dumb for Rare to make a new original IP instead of making a sequel?!?!

No, that is marketing lingo for anything that is more than 1 activity. Like talking about how to make a better WoW on company time or throwing darts at a wall trying to decide which character design is the best for a new title.

bap it's different. I don't think it's dumb about halo. It's a cash cow beat it to death. I think it's sad that that's ALL they make. They haven't grown as far as I know. Grown as in other teams, making other games. Show of good faith in the Bungie name. Monolith had Condemned and FEAR. Other studios have more than that. Bioware has like what 4 going on. Some sequels. Not spread to then but NOT focused on just one thing only. Hell I wouldn't mind if Master Cheif was in a Vollyball game made by bungie. Actually that would disturb me.
That's besides the point. Now with Rare, bap are you honestly looking forward to a Pinata game? KI hasn't been used in what 10+ years now. They've made SEVERAL game in between then and now.

Makes me wonder why I'm spending all this money on high end video cards when we don't get the new stuff to run on them. :(

I doubt this was just "PC GAME", although you could hate Remedy I take it. They saw the money they made off both MP games on multiple platforms, I doubt it was going to stay just PC.

No, that it MAY NOT be on PC at all... :( If its ported to X360 from the PC release (the way God intended) I'm all for it, but if it becomes a "exclusive" (complete sense of the word), well... that's another game I wont be able to play, and I was really looking forward to this.

Alan Wake can't be exclusive to 360, no way. The Max Payne community has followed Remedy across charon, AND they've given the world Max Payne KungFu to say the least. This would be a huge betrayal.

Spending tons of money on your video cards leads to poverty. Poverty leads to piracy. Piracy leads to no more PC games.

As the Max Payne franchise saw its birth and commercial success on the PC, I really hope Alan Wake remains at least in part a PC commodity. That said, I think the delays we've seen in this game's release come completely from story, not from development.
In the Mouth of Madness as a game concept does not a critical success make.
