I know what you're thinking. You just love those rascally little rebels over at Toybane (http://www.toybane.com), but how can someone with your busy schedule be expected to keep up with their latest off-the-wall antics? We've all been there. And now, we have a solution: the Toybane Weekly Round-Up, where we link you up the best original content that Toybane has to offer from the past week.
Spigot kicked this week off with everyone's favorite time-wasting technique -- a list! This time the list was the top 8 stress-relieving games (http://toybane.com/?p=83). Kenny put another chapter in the popular Role Call series of articles under his belt with The Columbus Complex (http://toybane.com/?p=81), an exploration of, er, exploration. Why is random treasure and non-linear exploration important to RPGs and gaming in general? Find out!
This week's Toybane at Play (http://toybane.com/?p=86) finds the staff, as always, playing an interesting and eclectic mix of games, including the newest Tomb Raider, life-destroying MMOs, Brain Age (Brock's 79 -- believe the doc), and... real-life? Ugh. What a let down, Kenny. Meanwhile Donovan brings us a demo review of the Loco Roco demo (http://toybane.com/?p=89) on the PSP. Also, on the cutting edge as always, Kenny responds to the news of the Nintendo Wii-naming with a VERY BIG exclusive interview (http://toybane.com/?p=88)! Folks, you do not want to miss this one!
And-- this just in! I am pleased and very proud to introduce our newest member of the Toybane staff: Dan (aka EternalGamer aka that guy who signs all his posts 'Dan' but not in his signature just to drive Spigot CRAZY). Dan starts off his work with Toybane the best way possible -- with an awesome article about the new Super Princess Peach game for the DS and the misogyny Nintendo may or may not be trying to cover up with it. He's calling this one Super Princess Peach & The Male Gaze Part 1: A Portrait of a Distressed Damsel (http://toybane.com/?p=92).
Ah, Toybane (http://www.toybane.com). I think Brock put it best when he said over and over again: It's the right thing to do.

I was formerly unaware of the animousity my name/signiture caused. It was really just force of habit. In order to make ammends with Spigot, I will make an attempt to drop it.
(wow this is hard)

Well, I always liked it Dan. Also, I love intellectual discussions of gaming. Great article!

I find it funny because there's two other guys on EA who also always put "Dan" in their posts. I've not noticed anyone else doing this (is there something about having that name that compells people to point it out in every post?). ;)

It really is just a hold over habit from the early days of internet forums. In the forums I used to visit back then, everybody did it, possibly because there was no "signiture." It is similar to the way someone would always put their keys in the same spot, something I do unconsciously most of the time.

Personally, I like it. If only cause it makes Spigot so angry.

MG, you are already an integral part of Toybane. Didn't anyone tell you? You coined us.
If they didn't, now you know.

I have to comment on the Columbus Complex, as the topic comes up oddly enough when I find myself and a friend horribly caught by it in World of Warcraft. I bought the guild charter for "Explorers of Azeroth" last night. (Wildhammer - Murtaug if you want an invite ;)
Originally we called ourselves "Cousteau & Co.", mainly because we swam from the Swamp of Sorrows to the Wetlands, a journey that took us probably something close to two hours. If you look at the map of the Eastern Kingdoms, there is a large plot of land that borders Badlands, Loch Modan, Wetlands, Burning Steps.. it's a think piece of land, mostly mountains and all but impossible to get into. After about twenty minutes to a half hour of swimming in the sea we realized we were never going to get into the Badlands from the coast, which was our original intent. Looking at these mountains, yearning for a way through them into the Badlands, we starting hunting, and thus Cousteau & Co. was formed.
We ended up finding a way up into these mountains, and found huge pieces of land with absolutely no detail, just wide open completely flat spaces with the occasional valley and tall mountain spires. My friend ended up getting stuck and was forced to hearth back to Orgrimmar (we tell people we ran into a level one hundred dragon and he sacrificed himself so I could defeat the vile beast). I manged to get past the point where he was stuck and found myself in the Wetlands.
It was quite the adventure, it was also a lot of time wasted accomplishing nothing except having fun. So now, when we find ourselves stuck in a rut that no amount of grinding will get us out of, we head off into the wilds of Azeroth and explore the unknown. Yesterday we made our way into Darnassas, the sea claimed our lives more then once, but we eventually prevailed.

Bad Krin! You should be joining the EvAv guild!

Awesome! I wonder if they'll be putting stuff there eventually.

I don't really mind you signing your name, EG. I just like to complain about stuff.
In fact, that really looks wierd without your signature. Go back and put Dan on it!
Oh, and happy birthday, Maggie!

Yeah, I must agree that it looks weird with no Dan.

You better get used to it, bub! I gotta learn how to abuse this newfound power of mine right! Besides, haven't you heard? Toybane's the new craze! All the cool kids are reading it!
Also -- weren't you orange a while ago? Dammit. :p
What the hell is a Toybane.
Is this a trick non-question?
Lemme get a purple name.
Need my Zealian colors.

You know what drives me crazy? The fact the the news posts don't color the submitters' names.
It's probably intentional though.

Nice job with the Toybane site so far, Kef, Kel, and the rest of the crew.
A good complement to EvAv.

Now, if you can design us a nice Joomla template, you could really max out those brownnosing stats.

I know, I have been thinking about starting an alt and joining the EvAv guild, I started on Wildhammer because I have two real life friends on that server, and now I have a level 42 rogue there.. not to mention something like nine days worth of play time into it.
When I get bored with my rogue I will probably head over to the EvAv server and get to playing.
