You guys see the missing scene in Return of the Jedi? Awesome!! I do not want to put any spoilers out here, but man its cool whats shown in the scene is general SW canon in regards to Jedi/Sith warriors. To bad it wasnt left in the original movie.

I think he's got you on this one. Ever heard of this, I hadn't: "Taken at The Main Event at Star Wars Celebration V."
Lucas puts on SW Celebration, see site here: http://www.starwarscelebration.com/
This years was actually pretty close to me: "Aug. 12-15, 2010. Orange County Convention Center."
Four day pass was $145. It looks pretty legit.

Interesting if you're a star wars nut, though.
Not sure if it's as insane as buddy was telling us.
The pacing and directing of it felt really modern. Seemed patched together, like Vader's scene was shot then and Luke's scene was shot yestaerday. And where the hell does it fit in? Before Degoba? After? That looks like Tatooine, but...
Maybe he's gonna splice it into the prequels just to fuck with us...

Also, good article on how Return of the Jedi was supposed to end. (http://www.avclub.com/articles/gary-kurtz-outlines-original-darker-ewokless-endin,44162/?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=feeds&utm_source=avclub_rss_daily)
And proof that Lucas became a complete and utter sellout with ROTJedi, and actually changed the story because he wanted to boost toy sales. What a tool :\
We had an outline and George changed everything in it," Kurtz said. “Instead of bittersweet and poignant he wanted a euphoric ending with everybody happy. The original idea was that they would recover [the kidnapped] Han Solo in the early part of the story and that he would then die in the middle part of the film in a raid on an Imperial base. George then decided he didn’t want any of the principals killed. By that time there were really big toy sales and that was a reason.”
The discussed ending of the film that Kurtz favored presented the rebel forces in tatters, Leia grappling with her new duties as queen and Luke walking off alone “like Clint Eastwood in the spaghetti westerns,” as Kurtz put it.
Kurtz said that ending would have been a more emotionally nuanced finale to an epic adventure than the forest celebration of the Ewoks that essentially ended the trilogy with a teddy bear luau.

See, this is the genius of it. After Lucas patches it into the film every Star Wars nut will have to buy the series -AGAIN-. For that reason it'll come out on DVD first, so all the early adopters buy it for Christmas. Then he'll release the remastered version the next year, complete with "deleted scenes" for the rest of the trilogy. Then start parceling it out on Bluray a few years down the road.
Your average Star Wars fan will buy the trilogy 37 times before they die :P And Lucas will be laughing all the way to Monaco :P

That scene would have been shortly before he sent the droids to Jabba's palace, which places it practically right after the opening text scrawl. It's really the only place in the film where it would possibly fit, especially given then cave opening shown. The scene also appears to show him putting the finishing touches on his Lightsaber, which would also only really make sense towards the beginning of the film.

As in putting the lightsaber into R2-D2 so it would be there when he goes to Jabba's palace.

I watched it, it was about 30 seconds of footage that we never saw and that is about the kindest thing I can say about it. The movie was no better (or worse) for it having been shaved off. Not much could save RotJ when you think about it.

If you Google "Return of the Jedi deleted scene fake" you will find that Mark Hamill says he never shot that scene, so people thinking it looks fake are probably right.

Doesn't mean it wasn't shot at the time (1981) though. Stunt actors are used to film "pick-ups" all the time. ( a "pick-up" is a post production shot that is usually added well after initial filming is finished. Getting the actors to return for a scene on a weekend can cost big dollars, so using a stunt actor is an easy fix).
