The BioWare Live Team just released NWN patch 1.67 (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/index.html) the largest patch yet for the game, adding new features to game, toolset and DM cleint as well as tons of new, pirate themed content previously exclusive to the Pirates of the Sword Coast (http://store.bioware.com/products/pirates.html) premium module.
Some highlights include:
* Two new tilesets (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/tilesets.html)
* 13 new creatures (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/plunder.html)
* 79 new placeable objects (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/plunder.html)
* new portraits, sounds and visual effects
Scripters will find dozens of new or extended scripting functions (including the ability to change object names through scripting), while Server and PW operators may want to take note of some new server options (such as the ability to hide creature challenge rating from players). DMs are now able to create and manipulate traps through the DM client.
An overview and download information on the new content, including screenshots, can be found on the Patch 1.67 Homepage (http://nwn.bioware.com/players/167/index.html).
The patch is available through auto patcher and website - the patchnotes can be found here (http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patchdetails167.html?pl=).

That's cool that they're still supporting the game. I haven't had it installed for at least a year now... and haven't actually played it much since around it's release.
It was a fun game. It would have been much more fun if I had a group of friends to play with and a DM and all that.
Sadly, I have no friends.

Do I have to pay $2.50 for it?

No, as all Neverwinter Patches, it is free (as in beer).
Since I guess where you're coming from, I would like to add that the reason we can still release huge updates like this one nearly four years after the game was released is the success of our premium modules (http://store.bioware.com/products/) for NWN
Without those, we would probably not be able to justify keeping a large Live Team on a four year old game, and we certainly couldn't justify adding loads of new content to the game for free. Details here (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=478697&forum=42&sp=0#4091928).

I bought this game some time ago when it went on sale for $20 and I still haven't played it yet!
Of course, I was going to start playing it a few weeks ago (had the disks out ready to install and everything), but then those @#$%'s at Bethesda had to release Oblivion...

No horse armor?! Fuck this shit!

And your premium mods are actually worth buying! I may bad-mouth Bioware in these post NWN days, but what you guys have done with NWN and continue to do is just awesome.
EDIT: Actually... I think I'll buy a premium mod for NWN this Friday and play it over the weekend, that sounds like good, cheap fun.

SHOCK!, really. I was not aware the NWN community and Live Team was still kicking it. Sadly, my copy got damaged a few years ago. I still got my money's worth out of it.

pirates of the sword coast is a really fun module. As is shadow guard but it really leaves a cliff hanger ending. Kingmaker is also excellent.

Thank you very much George.
My group is still having the weekly game every wednesday. We're going through the Shadowlords campaign by Adam.
I think there's a problem with your servers right now.. So for this session we skipped the patching. Can't wait to see what new modules are going to turn up following this update.
for everyone who needs friends playing NWN: Go to www.neverwinterconnection.com
By the way, we're looking for people interested in continuing the Avatarship campaign. (we're re-doing Ultima IV story through NWN and the DM needs a hand)

As for the future of the Avatarship campaign, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it, but if someone would be willing to help me out in picking it up where we left off, I might be interested in your help.
