GamesAreFun.com (http://www.gamesarefun.com) has some new screenshots (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=6249) and info of the latest Castlevania game for the Nintendo DS. The latest Nintendo Power magazine issue states that the game will feature a new "skill collecting system of sorts," two main characters that can be switched at any time, a bigger castle than Dawn of Sorrow, Wi-Fi support (either co-op or versus) and music from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night composer Michiru Yamane (who only did a few tracks for Dawn of Sorrow but appears to be in charge of the music in this game).
Yay!

I am boycotting these new castlevania games until they figure out we want these 2D games on consoles proper...not just portable. I mean, come on!

I heard the whole thing with "portraits" is painting/pictures in the game will transport you to whatever is pictured. Like deserts and other locations.

Looks fucking great! And co-op? Hello? WTFOMGBBQ!
And laggerific, just wait. I'm sure there'll be an add-on to the revolution to let you play DS games on it through your TV. ;)
I love Wi-Fi over DS. For some reason I find it just insanely cool, even though the tech if pretty basic. Maybe because it's my first handheld since around 1990.

I'm such a CV whore. This should be cool to play on a new black DS Lite (if that rumor is true anyway)

heh, if everyone did that it would probebly just kill the franchise, not get it ported to console.
Infact I'd say if everyone went out and bought it then they would think "Oh hey its selling well, lets dump it onto some consoles aswell!"

This is looking really good...I hope these new gameplay elements bring life into the franchise. Because I've said it before, DoS was fun...but could have been much better. Although I wish they completely cut the touchscreen/magic seal deal, and use the touch screen for navigating through equipment and souls. I would like the idea of selecting a specific soul quickly for one enemy, and switching to another on the fly for a different enemy.
