CivCity Rome is an innovative City builder inspired by the world of Sid Meier's Civilization, and created by a collaboration between Firefly Studios and Firaxis Games.

I question how innovative this can be, considering how well treaded the Roman city builder sim is. But it's Firaxis and the Sid-man, so at the very least it should be fun.

Maybe they took the idea from Firefly: previous maker of Stronghold, sat them all at a table and taught them how to make a good game: on the condition Firaxis get's mentioned and they use the CIV IV engine.

I feel your pain. My brother made an unauthorized visit to my place and borrowed my Firefly DVDs. Ire earned.

The Roman City builder has already been done many times and done well, especially in the Caesar games. I think a new Alpha Centauri would be a much better investment.

Do your homework :) The Firefly US studio was in fact founded by former Impressions people who created the Ceasar game.

I thought it was Tilted Mill that was founded by former Impressions people. They're working on Caesar IV at the moment.

My point was that we really don't need another series like this, regardless of who it's from. I want to see something new, or Alpha Centauri II. :p

I mean this has already been done with the entire Ceaser series.. Do we need a Civ version of it? Maybe Civ Ghengis Khan instead? :)
