UK games industry trade publication MCV recently revealed winners of its Industry Excellence Awards, with SCE walking away with the top prize for success, innovation and business management.
Sony's UK branch won the top Grand Prix prize, as MCV states that SCEE devised a successful PSP launch while continuing to push PS2 hardware to record levels. As for innovation, MCV noted SCEE's Buzz! quiz game, along with development of SingStar and EyeToy products and the acclaimed God of War.
Last week, the MCV Industry Excellence Awards night brought in nearly 600 top execs and retailers, and recognized top performers from the previous 12 months.
“The transparent nature of the MCV Awards, where it is the industry itself that votes, means that every winner can feel very proud,” said MCV managing editor Lisa Foster. “We thank everyone for participating and also congratulate the Finalists. It was another fine night celebrating the best of a very fine British entertainment industry.”
Congrats to the winners. Nice to see Nintendo winning the most awards and Microsoft picking up the Trade Marketing Award for the Xbox 360. I guess.
