Everybody listen to me! I'm the first caller.
Sadly, we don't talk about the comic (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11407).

The comic will SO get mentioned next time. Probably even in the bonus episode.

The comic is actually included in the MP3 file. Use an MP3 player or software that plays ID3 tags and you'll get it.

Excellent episode.

Looking forward to doing the roundtable next week.

Whos amanda?! (friend? member here?)

Why are you announcing ipr station numbers and names? (are you borrowing a station? You cannot do this via your pc? Other issues?)

Have I been under a rock because I have never listened beore? (Am I a jackass, or troll? Or just stupid? Or just sleepy when the links are posted?)

Amanda is Kef's GF...
Kef has time on his college's (I believe) public radio station.
And probably to everything else you asked. :D

so this is just an audio version of the site, because that is all I heard.

Pretty much, and for people who might have missed the news. Or people who don't visit Evil Avatar for some reason and listen to that station?

Looking forward to doing the roundtable next week.

Gonna be great, for sure.

Most of Phantom's questions have already been answered, but I'll answer them myself also just to make sure they're clear.

Whos amanda?! (friend? member here?)

Amanda's my girlfriend and a gamer as well, though much less hardcore than me. The idea was to get the opinions of a hardcore gamer such as myself as well as someone who games a bit less and knows less about the video game world. The opinions of an outsider can bring in some really interesting stuff we might not consider otherwise. I'm often pretty surprised at the stuff she asks me as opposed to the stuff she doesn't.

Why are you announcing ipr station numbers and names? (are you borrowing a station? You cannot do this via your pc? Other issues?)

We stream the show live every Friday night (9central to midnight) at www.kumm.org. KUMM is the local college radio station. We could do this through the computer, but it would be a lot harder to bring in community participation live, which is something that I think is vital and important to Evil Avatar. There's a ton of podcasts out there that discuss video game news, but I don't think there are many that have the huge community base (and chance for that community to participate) that the EvAv podcast has.

Have I been under a rock because I have never listened beore? (Am I a jackass, or troll? Or just stupid? Or just sleepy when the links are posted?)

We do a post about twice a week on the 'cast (when we record it and when the MP3/podcast version is released), so I'm surprised you've missed it, but you know now!

so this is just an audio version of the site, because that is all I heard.

Basically, although we're working to expand it in other ways as well. It gives people a chance to recall the biggest news of the week and, if they call in, to discuss it a little more with some hindsight. You'll notice that we often don't just discuss the stories but also how the community reacted to the stories. We also have the interview with Evil Avatar that just gives a little look behind the scenes for people who are interested.

We'll also be bringing developer interviews and other new things very soon, so stay tuned.

Anyone have any ideas about what I should rant about in the next Brock Talk segment? After beating that horse carcass to death, all other news pales in comparison.

I'm trying to find a good and somewhat controversial news story that I can come down on with the full fury of my balanced and neutral opinion.

Kefkataran

Well, probably won't be able to get that in until the episode for the 21st, so you have time to wait and see what news story is dominating at the time.

Nobody said they had to be timely!

And here I was hoping to go through the EvAv archives to find an interesting topic from years past to rant about retroactively.

That's actually sort of an interesting idea. I'll look forward to whatever you come up with.

Kef, you should have a person who calls in every show and gives you updates on their "sponsored" console. I.E. A person who calls in about Revolution, a person who calls in with the latest on 360, etc...

While the idea is somewhat appealing, I think the problem with that is that we'd have to constantly depend on that person to come through for us not only with calling but with having something to say each week. With other stuff, like bap's Real Gamer Reviews audio, it's not too noticeable when it's missing because we have so much other content, but with this it would take up a lot of time and if one system was missing, it'd be way noticeable.

And then you'd be accused of hating console X.

Freudian slip?
I was using it as the generic X, rather than the Xboxian X.

I was, of course, referring to the Gizmondo...

But we like the Gizmondo.

I still want to find one, but it looks like sales in the US were extraordinarily low and they'll never be available cheap.
