3drealms has posted yet another weekly update,
We're in full-on crunch mode here at Human Head Studios. Many people are burning the midnight oil as they work to finish their tasks before our next major deadline.
I read the last few Weekly Updates, and it seems that my mantra lately has been "bug fixing and tweaking". Well, this week is no different -- there's been a ton of bug fixes and a lot of tweaks.
We're pretty much over the feature hump, as all of the major features we wanted are now implemented. From here to end, it will mainly be bug fixing, tweaking, and any remaining minor features as needed.
Catch the entire article here (http://www.3drealms.com/news/2006/04/prey_weekly_dev_13.html), Also check out the previous update, it mentions many game fixes.
Can't wait for this little gem to be done, aswell as you know what ;)

Plus strippers that do more than shake their tah tahs at you if you catch my drift.
George B. just gave away some new info on the msg. boards. Some game magazine did a review on Prey and got to see DukeNukem in action. Offcourse he wasn't allowed to say much about it, but he writes even more in the thread over at 3drealms.com.
To sum up:
- the journalist mentioned how the game really had the magic creativity from DN3D
- we shouldn't worry about graphics = they will be pretty
- the engine has been complete for over a year. They are only updating shaders or other non-critical effect updates, so they have been doing content for quite some time
- release date is still "When it's done"
The engine and tech has been the problem for 3Drealms all along. They are beyond that now. I think HL2 had the engine running 2 years prior to release, and the DukeNukemForever engine has been done for 1 year and some.
A good guess would be a release 1 year from now, with the hype/screenshots beginning December2006. I wonder if they will do E3 this year?

Ive always "had a hunch" WINK WINK, that the game would be completed in 2007 and released. Where i got this hunch from was a little bird on the wire...

I think I reached the point, five or so years ago where I just don't want Duke Nukem Forever to ever be released. It's more fun as a running joke than the game will ever be.

A reminder - a playable version (of DNF) has existed before and more than once. I'm frankly amused at the people who think this means the game is within a year of release. Somepeople have no sense of history.
Some people are just beyond cynical that it becomes a habit or personality. DukeNukemForever is the perfect outlet for all the angst filled people that need a safe scapegoat to mock. I hate 3Drealms a little too.. those bastards.
*sigh*
Offcourse it will come out sooner or later. They turned the worst corners of developing (the tech). The time they are spending right now will determine wether the game is good or bad - not if it will come out.
I'm really looking forward to the release of this game as it will have a past like no other. It is like Apocalypse Now where everything just went bad - the weather, the planning, the actors.. and the film is unique. As will the game be even if it sucks.

You should see a doctor about that hunch of yours. Leave it too long and it will develop into a fully-fledged rumor, and we all know what happens then.

how is it a rumour when it comes straight from the horses mouth ;).
Secondly, the reason i want duke3d to come out is that the game will be awesome. Then 3drealms can make a shadow warrior sequel. YOU NO MESS WITH LO WANG.
Also, asides from some of the consoles games ranging from bad to alright to slightly good. Anything that 3drealms has touched has done well to mildly put it. Almost every title associated with 3drealms happens to be very enjoyable from my viewpoint. So i still have high confidence in a gamehouse\publishing company like 3drealms.
