Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2675&Itemid=2) has a summary up of an interview with Kazuo Yoneyama, one of the Nintendo engineers who worked on the design of DS Lite. In it he talks about the design challenges with the DS Lite including battery life, size vs functionality and durability.
"We knew that we couldn't make it so small that we sacrificed functionality. Of course, we wanted to keep the display the same size, and it wouldn't have worked to change the button positions much either. To reduce the size within those constraints, we worked together with component makers, and now we're using some custom-designed parts."
Be sure to hit up Next Gen (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2675&Itemid=2) for the full details.

"The latest issue of EGM reports that the DS Lite is "due in May" on North American shores. The snippet coincides with 1Up's recent speculation, but does not contain further information that would validate this claim. Consider this a rumor — for now."

A co-worker just imported one of these and it is Super Hot! It is way, Way smaller. I have got to get my hands on one of these. It makes the PSP look big and impractical by comparison. And I know everybody says this but the screen is so damn bright. It looks great. If x-mas was in the summer than this would be my gift.

I'm getting a DS when the Lite comes out; too many games I wanna play, plus its a great time to grab the sexy hardware.
As much as it is a minor quibble, it really is a shame how much the GBA games stick out. I mean, damn, just a cm or two and it'd be perfect.

Not quite the leap from gba to gba sp, but still a nice refresh.

Ahhh. Yes... Just because he states his own positive opinion towards an object, he is instantly labeled as a viral marketing agent. Sound reasoning... especially when the person in question has about 340+ more posts than you.

You see the real key to being in the viral marketing business is to work for all 3 companies at the same time. That way you can just praise everyone and collect 3 paycheques for it.
