Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz) is reporting that Darwinia will be available in your local game store (or Wal-Mart) soon.

Introversion Software's Independent Games Festival-winning PC title Darwinia will soon be available at North American retail outlets, thanks to Cinemaware Marquee.
Previously, the game was available via Valve's Steam digital distribution platform, but Introversion hopes that traditional distribution will make the game more accessible to gamers.
“We lived and breathed Darwinia for many, many days and nights and it is great to see our life-blood get distribution in North America,” said Chris Delay, head of development at Introversion. “We now look forward to partnering with Cinemaware Marquee to make Darwinia accessible to everyone.”
Cinemaware Marquee recently brought another overlooked title to North America in the form of Space Rangers 2, a relatively obscure game from Russia that is also highly praised by those who've played it, much like Darwinia.
This is odd - I seem to recall reading an interview with the people at Introversion and they totally disowned the retail market. In any case, I'll likely pick this up off Steam given that it's a whole $10 cheaper.
