Nintendo (http://www.nintendo.com/) has updated the official New Super Mario Bros. site (http://mario.nintendo.com/) to reflect a new release date of May 21. In addition, they've posted some wallpaper to hold fans over.
Thanks to Gamecloud (http://www.gamecloud.com/) for the tip.

So is this going to get a title, or is the title officially "New Super Mario Bros."?

Take your time Nintendo. Get this one right. I've been waiting like 15 years for this game.

May 21 is a Sunday. Games don't launch on Sundays, unless they're accompanied by a system. Nintendo often launches systems on Sundays. Ergo, the DS Lite will come out with NSMB.

A bundle would be delightful and definately justify people buying new DSs.

Nice bit of detective work, I hope you're right!

I'll definetly purchase Mario, but I doubt I'll be upgrading to a DS lite. Just doesn't seem to be anything there worth the money I'd have to put down to get one.

I'm keeping my vanilla DS, but I will be playing the new Mario on it.
Having "new" in the title of a Mario game is oxymoronic.

Not really, there is no contradiction by definition. "Super Mario Brothers" does not in any way or part mean "old." The series itself is old by video game standards, but it has been abandoned in favor of spin-offs and new series using the same franchise. What they mean by "new" is it is the first game in the series in 16 years.

New, Old, Orange... whatever. As long as it's a 2d platformer that is a worthy successor to the series, I don't care what it's called. This and a DS Lite are what I'll be asking my wife and family to pitch in and get me on my birthday this year. :)

I won't be picking up a DS Lite myself since I just got the DS in December and haven't used it much so far (too busy.) I will be picking up this game though as soon as possible after it hits. Super Mario World is easily one of the best games ever made, regardless of what the lame haters think about the character, Nintendo, et al.

I really love good platforming games, especially ones that have the older game mechanics, but with a modern twist. This game == my money in Nintendo's pocket.
