Next Generation - Hot 100 Developers

Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz/) has compiled a list of the 100 hottest developers in gaming (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2523). And no, they're not talking companies, but people. Their criteria were success in 2005, potential 2006 success, and kickass-osity (being regarded as an industry 'luminary').

We tried to keep a strong balance between these criteria, but the fact of the matter is that there are far, far more than one hundred people that were influential in these ways, so we placed a maximum cap of two people per development studio. Even then, we had to make some very difficult decisions – therefore, this list does not represent everyone we consider important to the current industry, but rather it's what we feel is the best representative sample of the strongest talent of today.

No Tim Sweeney, though they listed "CLIFFITY B!!!!!!!!" so that covers Epic.

One omission (and there are many) that is a little surprising is Retro Studios' staff leader. I know they had a lot of turnover, and that Nintendo EAD stepped in and helped them finish Metroid Prime... but MP was clearly the GOTY 2002. MP2 was a great game as well, though not as amazing. MP3 is in development and will likely be a killer app on Revolution.
