Now that's interesting, according to Ars Technica (http://arstechnica.com/index.ars) it seems that the LED lights unrerneath the mighty mouse create an interesting illusion (http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2006/3/20/3272)!!

My buddy here at work just happens to have a mighty mouse. I think it's gay, but at least I got to see this first hand.

That's sad.

The only reason Macs are better...

*sigh*

Interesting stuff. And also, typo in the title: Mighty not migthy.

Haha. Made a call to the Apple Store in my area. They are sold out. Why? Because of this. People (Mac zealots) are buying them up because of the "Mac street cred factor"

The mouse is crap, IMO. Very clever, Apple, very celver.

Squeezing a mouse...geesh.

Plus, you can put the image in the post. I don't think ars would mind if we link to them as well.

Someday we will see a Mac-related post that doesn't include any anti-Mac trolling.

Well maybe in Fantasy Land at least.

I'm not a mac user, but that's neat, if typical of mac marketing. Cool gizmos with cool gimicks, but only sometimes do they have enough substance to back it up.

Out of nowhere, we get a digg post.

It's not really marketing. It's just a demonstration of Apple's attention to detail, even in inconsequential bits.

That is pretty cool. But I would like to point out, I liked this mouse before this was found. I am not a zealot. I Just think it's a groovy mouse.

The Mighty Mouse is pretty weak - I got one with my new iMac and quickly threw it in the drawer. It's frustratingly easy to click the wrong button and the design of the bottom prevents it from being used on anything other than an ultra-slick surface. The only way I could imagine using this on a normal surface (like a desk, which my other mice glide on, or even my Func Surface 1030 pad) would be to buy a few strips of the Mouse Skatez things and cover it in them.

Yuck. Crappy Apple hardware be gone!

The linked article specifically states that the other Apple mouses do not do this.

I am using the mighty mouse now. I like it for work because I can use my whole wrist to click.. and save my trigger finger for my Microsoft mouse at home.

They do. I checked, on more than one, I am not just sating it. Go to your nearest apple store and see for yourself.

Silly PC people.
