For the zombie fiend in all of us, Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/) has posted new screenshots (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=32797) of the Xbox 360 exclusive title Dead Rising.

Bad link to the screenshot. Takes me to Midway greatest hits. ( Which btw, looks like one of the better compilation games... )

Yeah, this is the link. http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=32797

I can't wait for this game, some cool screens here.

It doesn't look great, but boy does it look fun :) It's like State of Emergency, but I'm sympathetic to the plight of the protagonist!

Link fixed, thanks for the heads up and the proper link.

Hint for the ladies:

If you're trapped in a mall during a zombie/alien/pirate invasion, job 1 is to get yourself some sensible shoes.

(because I spend my time thinking about such eventualities)

I like the character models a lot. Then again, I like well-shaped boobies in almost any media.

The game could use some better lighting though.

After the new FarCry for the 360, this is my most anticipated game. It looks like an absolute blast to play. Hopefully the controls and camera are well done.

Wearing ladies shoes?

EDIT: This is also a game where advertising in game would make sense due to it's location, not counter-Strike...unless that was in a mall :)

Little pet peeve of mine, but...

How !@#$ hard is it to make the popup with the screenshot have a couple buttons that let you cycle through the screenshots? Anyone else dislike this?

Game looks interesting, but I'm not going to buy a 360 just for that.

Growing older, getting married, having kids... it doesn't change you so much as make you consider more well-rounded, more complete zombie-insurrection survival plans.

Yer gonna need women to repopulate the earth. And as a general rule, they'll be wearing shoes that are impractical, uncomfortable, and functionally unworkable in a running shootout.

You'll thank me for these insights later.

The unprecedented numbers of enemies come in never-ending waves and consist of a diverse population of former humans that have retained some memory of their previous lives, which is reflected in their behavior and appearance.
Translation: Cop zombies will be using their guns (like they fire them all the time anyway), not helping people. Hunter zombies will be weilding chainsaws. Baseball player zombies will have bats. Hooker zombies will be...ugh.

Read the features of the game from the worthplaying link and here's one little thing I have a problem with.

"Anything in the mall is at Frank's disposal "

How about if I wanted to tear off a zombie's leg, then use that appendage as a makeshift bat? Granted, the leg would eventually fall apart, but as long as I can use it for a few swings...who wouldn't want that?

Another interesting thing about the game is that at maximum, it'll only take two hours to complete. After two hours, the national guard shows up to rescue you. So, in theory, you could just climp up on some shelves (where the zombies can't get you), and then wait it out.

But obviously, the trick to the game is seeing WHAT you can accomplish in the two hours of playing you have. Do you wanna try and rescue everybody? Or find out where the zombies came from? It seems like there'll be a lot of different ways to play it, leading to a high replay value. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm interested in this, but every bit of gameplay footage I've seen has been the same thing... the player grabbing whatever's around and killing zombies. Now, this doesn't sound bad, but it started feeling monotonous, and that's just in the preview movies. =(

I hope the actual game is more than that, 'cause right now it's just... Robotron done over in 3D with zombies... kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill (oh wait, lemme start using this golf club!) kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill (eh, enough of that, lemme use this sword) kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill (okay, let's move on to this pistol) kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill (hrm... let's see how this meat cleaver does)kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill (aight, let's try this bazooka now) kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill.......

Is this true? Wow, my interest has dropped. Now I understand that it is just a more interesting Geometry Wars style game in that you just fight off an unending stream of foes, but I thought that there was a story in there. I was under the impression that you worked to find out where the zombies came from and what was going on. Seemed like a good ten hours to me, but it still looks like a good time. I'd take 30 minutes of this over Geometry Wars any day (assuming that the camera doesn't hinder gameplay and the controls feel 'tight').

Actually, this made it sound more interesting to me, as I had heard that the mall and surrounding area is so large that you CANNOT see the entire thing in one sitting. So yes... the game is short, but to see it all you HAVE to play it multiple times. Also, there is a story. Many different stories actually. Which one you get just depends on what you do.

Preview in the latest uk OXM says the game is roughly 15 hours per playthrough.

Can't wait for this...I am a huge zombie fan and the original Dawn of the Dead is one of my all time favs.

This game could potentially consume a LOT of my free time. So when is this bad boy coming out?

See...that's pretty much it. But you forget the details which includes but not limited to: gyser of blood from lopped off head, quartered body, flying bodies, lopping off arms with spraying blood, beading of bodies on the ground with blood splattering everywhere, etc etc.

Oh yeah...you are supposed to get good Zombie pictures too, you ARE a photographer. :)

Link? Plus, I'm not sure if I trust the British. They did raise taxes on tea importation. And that is something I just can't stand.

Wow this looks really interesting, and the replay value seems pretty high. I'll have to check it out.
