Canadian gaming site Head's Up! Display has just posted an interview with God of War 3's Lead Cinematic Artist, John Palamarchuk. Upon being questioned about potential GoW 3 DLC, he had some interesting things to say.

I don’t know if we’ve really announced anything. But personally things I’d like to see are maybe more fun costumes, maybe some more of those bonus challenges that you’ve seen in the past: arena challenges, things you can have fun with. Our game is really tightly story-based so it would be pretty hard to add anything in the middle there. Hopefully something to keep the fans excited.

Looks like Sony is thankfully avoiding Assassin's Creed II's DLC model.

WOW.

Personally, if I really like the story of God of War 3, I might actually want more story-based content. I might even want it enough to pay for it!

Not saying this justifies ending your game abruptly, but stuff like the Mass Effect DLC and the GTA DLC is certainly welcome in my book. arena challenges? Eh, I don't even play the ones that come with the game. How many people do?

No sequels. No dlc. Sony is letting this studio get away with murder.

Amusingly enough, folks would most definitely complain if they announced that DLC tying into the main story was in the works.

I, for one, applaud their artistic integrity; they feel the story they've told is complete and doesn't need any extra additions...such as what we've seen with Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Fable 2. Sometimes, it's good...but other times, it's like Mass Effect's DLC. It's just not necessary and doesn't really add anything to the overall experience.

You could have ended your reply here, and be universally correct about every possible thing they could do with GOW3. Or any game. Or anything to do with anything on the Internet, really...
