Amazon.com is having a one-day sale on Star Trek Online (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002W8SBIG?ie=UTF8&tag=evilavatarcom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002W8SBIG) for $27.99. Not quite as good as the $10 off w/90 days of game time Atari was offering, but still $22 less than retail.

The Collector's Edition is also on sale (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002W8SBIG?ie=UTF8&tag=evilavatarcom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002W8SBIG) for $47.99.

I hope they also do M*A*S*H* online and then package it in with this so I can buy both and send them to disadvantaged kids 20 years ago.

...and they come with the same pre-order goodies people paid 20$+ more for on day one.

I'm waiting for the $10 sale on Steam. I've heard too many bad things about this game to bother taking it seriously right now.

Unfortunately that means I'll end up passing, since by the time it is $10 the population will be so low that it won't be a massively multiplayer game any more.

I am so disappointed with Cryptic. They never learned anything from CoH except how to make a good character generator. It seems like they have no idea how to create an end game or a crafting system with any more than paper thin depth. Every once in a while they have a totally refreshing idea, but then they wrap it inside a shit taco.

I agree with you Vallor, I'm waiting for the free 14 day trial. Which at the rate they are going should be here next month.

I also agree with "paper thin design" for crafting, content, and story. What is it with Cryptic? Bad luck? Lack of funds? Is it Jack, or someone else who works at the studio? Beats me, but Cryptic sure puts out some very light-weight games. I can't see why anyone would bother with products like that either, at some point it's got to be a drag on someone's career.
