Thanks to Reed over at GameTab (http://www.gametab.com) for the following:

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) - $44.99 (http://tinyurl.com/mtjg2)

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC) - $39.99 (http://tinyurl.com/mkfjc)

Dude... I'm so there.

I could see them cutting $10 off the tag of the PC version, but they are showing pictures of the Collector's Edition on that page. That's a little hard to believe... that would be a $20 price cut.

I'm not there! If I don't buy my copy at BestBuy for $60 then who will pay for the multi-million dollar salaries of their execs? Simple trickle-down economics. Give a lot of money to people who are already rich and that'll come back to help us! But from BestBuy! It's an investment in your future!

Print it out and take it to the store - they have to honor the price as advertised.

True, but then again there's probably some loop-hole if you print it out from your computer.

Because it's not like that couldn't be tampered with.

I've been in a similar situation before at Best Buy and I made them pull up the item in question on their own computers in the store. That may work, I suppose.

Will us East Coasters actually be able to buy it tommorow? Or will it be later this week?

Yeah, might as well take the printout to the store. I had them cut me a deal on my new TV when it was advertised for less on their website than it was in the store, and they even looked it up for me to verify that.

I'm already down for the CE at my local EB though, so no savings here.

FYI The print ad showed the same box and price with a $20 savings note. I think it is legit. In fact the other PC price was only $10 for the regular boxed version.

I will be taking said print ad to CompUSA.

Correction to my prior post.

Print ad as follows:

Oblivion Collector's box with price of $44.99 (save $15) and it again states $59.99 - $15 instant savings.

Regular version is listed at $39.99. Still both are great deals.

edit: In looking at the ad closer... I think what they mean is the regular 360 version is $44.99 , 360 collector's edition is $69.99, and plain PC version is $39.99. I'll still take the ad in tomorrow and see what they say about this whole mess.

Do you know if this applies to the 360 version, or if there is any discount on the 360 version at Fry's?

If not I'll be heading over to CompUSA... haven't been in one of those in years!

I just picked up a copy at Best Buy and pricematched to Compusa using a printout of the ad from their website. I have yet to pay more than $49.99 for a 360 game. This makes 6 games. So much for the price increase this generation. Got to love loss leaders.

wait wait wait wait wait

you call a $39.99 PC title C-H-E-A-P? That's about average. If anything that is only a few bucks cheaper if you buy it at Wal-Mart the week it's released and then it goes back up to "normal" price.

When it drops to something like $15 or 20, then it's C-H-E-A-P
