Just incase ya'll havn't seen it yet here ya go (http://elderscrolls.com/downloads/media_movies.htm).
I recommend using this Xboxyde (http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2675_en.html) link, much better download speeds.
A little combat action this time around, lookin sweet!
what date is it coming out? 20th or 21st?
Its confusing because i live in Australia and my times are 17 hours in front of yours.

THe game is shipping on the 20th, but is not being sold until the 21st. Not sure how that would then work in australia, but the earliest anyone can buy it in north america is the 21st.
Oh ok thanks for that. Knowing how it usually work us people have to probably wait another week or so for it reach us. That sucks.

For Gamestop's sake, I HOPE they have my reserved copy there when I arrive. They've screwed up plenty of preorders in the past...

Man, is the Xbox 360 landscape so utterly barren that a new game coming out requires a new post here every single day?
I dearly hope this doesn't occur when Twilight Princess comes out, because that may actually keep me from desiring the game any longer.

Its part of Bethesdas plan. Get us so used to needing a news post every time some vidoe comes out, and then they start releasing them every day and the result is a newspost per day.
Diabolical.

Wonder what day it'll be out over here in Ireland. I should probably try to finish my thesis before then.
Soo 9,000-odd words in a few days eh ... Sounds fun.

Friend of mine here just emailed me that Gamestop just called him and told him he could pick Oblivion up tomorrow at 10 am. Bastage.

Columbus, GA (a quasi suburb of Atlanta for those of you not in the know) has a Gamestop that purports to be putting Oblivion on sale tomorrow at 11am, this from my voice mail as of four hours ago.

Your friend's a fucking liar. Oh, wait, *I'M* that friend! Heh.
Yep, I got the call when I came back from doing some errands this afternoon, I had been hearing similar tales on the InterWEB but dismissed them as fanboi fantasy. Except I really did get the call, and so now I believe all the others who did as well. Being a world-wide release, it surely has been boxed and ready for a while now, to accomodate for time to ship across the pond.

Be careful.
As an employee of Gamestop I've seen plenty of fellow, less logic-inclined co-workers misunderstand a SHIP DATE as a STREET DATE.
So, in our computers 3/20 does not mean the game will be there on monday. It means it ships that day and arrives the following day on 3/21.
So... just be careful, because I checked today and it's still 3/20.

Well, except it was the usual automated phone recording thing, not an actual person, who called me.

Really? That's interesting. Hm, well if "Aeris" called you then I suppose it's the real thing.
Damn, living on the west coast bites sometimes. sometimes.

I got a call from the local Gamestop saying they'll have my copy in tomorrow night, which is good news for me. I work a shifted scheduel (Thursday to Monday) so I'll have my whole weekend to play.

Gamestop's "Aeris" called, said it'll be there tomorrow. I called and checked with the local store, and they say it'll be in between 5-6pm. Oh happy day! 16 hours of playtime in my weekend left.
Video looks great, the detail on that npc with the ax and that giant crab stuns me. Especially when you look at all the background detail doin nothing but sitting there being pretty. Pretty, and real, and explorable.
Sure, the fights are still a bit loose... but it is an RPG. I play RPGs nearly daily where people line up to hit each other and take nice turns, and RPGs where I click and watch them swing at each other til one dies. This, this looks like a big step up.

Looks wonderful to me, but then again I am a rabid mindless Oblivion fanboy ;)

i had oblivion reserved, then i changed my mind...then i reserved the oblvion collectors edition for 360 :)

That was a good move. The regular Oblivion looks like utter crap, but the Collectors Edition sports some pretty graphics and gameplay ;)

My comp runs HL:2 fine (though more acceptable on a lower DX lvl)....could run Doom 3 poorly, and the FEAR demo by the skin of it's teeth...
should I even make an effort to get the game? Or should I just wait?
I'm aware of it's requirments and all...I just dunno.

Depends on how much FPS matters to you, I suppose. If you had problems with D3 and FEAR, I wouldn't hold out hope. On the other hand, people played Morrowind with horrid FPS rates because it's an RPG, not a twitch FPS.

I guess i figured as such..
I tend to like a game much better when it runs smoothly...I think I might be SOL for the time being.
Yeah, I think the benchmark for you is having problems with Doom3.
I can't wait, bought a 24" LCD for this game.

Please don't let this spark another 360 vs PC fest, but if you can find one, consider the 360. I switched my pre-order to the 360 after finding one a few weeks ago, partially because my PC was a bit below 'recommended' specs and I wanted the best graphics possible.
If you don't have a great TV, there's always the VGA cable. That's what I'm planning on using. While it has issues with some games, DOA4 looks jaw dropping.

Yawn.
Only two more days of this free advertising crap for Bethesda and then it's post after post of people playing it.
I hope it's not been overhyped for all the players sake.
Seeing as how you appear to enjoy wasting your time, I figured boring things would appeal to you.
