Brazilian games blog Jigu (http://www.jigu.com.br/2010/03/03/criador-de-larry-leva-outra-rasteira-da-industria/) has published an article regarding this Wednesday's announcement of Sam Suede: Undercover Exposure by Apogee Software and Icarus Studio.

Originally announced by Al Lowe (creator of Sierra On-Line's classic adventure series Leisure Suit Larry) and Ken Wegrzyn on their defucnt company - iBase Entertainment - the new release does not mention Lowe. Jigu has contacted mr. Lowe regarding the subject, and Lowe was not aware of such deal.

Could Al have taken another stab on the back? After all, what Vivendi has done with the Leisure Suit Larry franchise after he left was revolting. Nothing that sending two e-mails wouldn't solve - one to the game's PR company, and another to Lowe. So far, I've got only one answer: Lowe's. Unfortunately, the sad truth came to surface:

"This is the first I've heard of it. WTF? Looks like it's time to call the lawyers."

Well, I still haven't received a reply from Apogee's PR. I'm worried.

I hope Mr. Lowe gets the opportunity to work more. He was one of the best.

You might have to ambush Apogee's office, Inside Edition-style. Once they realize what you're there for, prepare for the hands in front of the camera, and the cursing about "This %(^#* interview is over!"

All this talk about old Sierra makes me wonder whatever happened to The Two Guys from Andromeda.

Well, yes, he was quite good.. but he's also been out of the business for a very long time, and it's evolved a lot since then. Maybe as a creative consultant he'd be able to hack it, but it's hard coming back to such a quick-moving profession so much later.
